Default Torch 9800 support Arabic?

Please Login to Remove!

I am planning on getting the Torch 9800 very very soon, I only have one question, does it support Arabic? Like reading and writing??

I know all other Blackberrys do, but this one is released with a new OS. I don't want to end up with a new device with an old OS just to be able to read/write Arabic.

Please help I am ready to buy the phone ASAP

Moved to more appropriate section and edited title for better response.

Please look in the 9800 section. There are a couple threads on that topic.

OS version 214 (beta) supports languages, including Arabic. I've tested it and it works.

As usual, it should be a question of days until it is officially released.

Default 9800 has many problems

Am using 9800 Torch, I couldn't find arabic software for it. also after seding a Broad Cast Msg for more than 100 users, it Jam, and need to restart it.

also the only version messenger it work with it is the worst on: 5.0.1.138 and it doesnt recognize other virsions.

You will hear many people will say its nice, but believe me most of them are mobile business shop owners.

wait untill you meet one of your friends who used it, and then you will know the real problems.

for example the link with post it above it ask you to pay $10 , and you cant garantee if this software is appicable with your mobile or not.

wait untill it announce by mobile service providers then take it, because its going to be garanteed.

Best of luck

Default Re: Torch 9800 support Arabic?

Hello. I read on this thread that beta firmwares had Arabic keyboards enabled, but i bought new one with a 246 firmware pre-installed but it has no Arabic (although it has several other input languages installed). Any idea how to enable on-screen arabic keyboard or install one? Thank you
