Do you have a BB data plan? If so did you resend the service books after you upgraded the OS?

yes i do.
and i did resend servicbooks afterwards yet still nothing.
Should i maybe delete the amazin app service book if there is one?
And could it be an OS issue ie. that im using OS 5.0?

I had a similar issue. I don't think it's "supported" on OS 5, though it does work if you can get it. The way I got it was my wife had a Bold still on the 4.6 OS, downloaded it and installed it, then using Blackberry Master Control Program, I backed up the program, and restored it to my Bold with the 5.0 OS on it. It works fine then.

Pickup a Blackberry browser uid string from the interwebs, use a browser extension to mask your browser as a blackberry running 4.6, hit the download page and download the .jad file, feed the .jad to ota downloader and get the cods. Drop them all in a web server directory, browse to the jad with your real blackberry now and install.

I would suggest if you know someone who already has it installed, you could use Blackberry Master Control Program and back it up and restore it to your own phone. You may also be able to find it elsewhere on the web. I just googled it and found a couple of places right off the bat that had them in .cod and .alx format.

good luck.

ya i found it on the net like three days after posting this thread. The reason i posted this was cause the web site where i originally d/led this app from was gone. Appworld no longer hosts it and the native amazon d/l link still wont let me download the app. I was hoping someone would pm me a link but that never happened.

I use it to look up movie titles and general dvd releases since thats the only app i know of where u can do that stuff. bummer.

Wirelessly posted

What I meant is if you use a browser extension to masquerade your desktop browser as a blackberry browser you get access to the jad file which is an OTA install file. Having the jad you can now pull the cods it references. Drop them all in a web server directory, hit the jad from the blackberry and install ota.

The browser can't tell if your ota install comes from the inrernet or a web server next to you.

I usually do it for 3rd party apps. It's a rather easy way for me to keep my 3rd party binary base centrallised and backd up. Also helps with version control and rolling back to a past version of any application is as easy as hitting the appropriate jad locally.

If my method confuses you I apologise. Use some of the other solutions offered.
