Unhappy Cannot receive calls on my Blackberry 9000 / bold

Hi,

I purchased a blackberry bold. I live in Australia and my service provider is Telstra.

There seems to be some problem with the phone. Telstra technical staff have told me the the network is not locked, the phone is also not locked and they issued a new SIM card.
But most of the time, the phone is not able to receive any calls.

I have downloaded and installed the latest software, specific to Telstra and ran it, but I still cannot receive calls.

I now really regret purchasing this mobile.

Kindly advise.

eh, so you can't return it easily? And, you have very little leeway in the way of warranty, since it was not purchased from the carrier on which you are using it.

What is the signal indicator you get on the homescreen?

No, I cannot return it easily.
I did take it to my service provider. They took a look and told me that the phone is not locked and the network is also not locked. They suggested that I install the software specific to the service provider. I did this. But the calls still do not come through.

Signal indicator is just fine at full strength. I can make calls and send text messages. However, if anyone tries to contact me, 8 out of 10 times the response is that the phone is not reachable. But on the phone the signal indicator is at full strength.

have same problem with me. only mine can received call AFTER i made a call.

But it repeats like that everymorning. so every morning after i wake up i have to call my own home number and hangup, if i dont do that every morning, nobody can reach me, even sms me.

my provider also dont know what happened to my unit....

i guess this is our bad luck to get a faulty unit

my bb is pearl, so it is way off the warranty :(

so how about yours now? still cannot received calls?
