Default Sent email folder? (BIS service)

Please Login to Remove!

Do email messages that you send get stored in a "sent" folder? I know you can view them by changing the "hide sent messages" setting but that setting is glabal for all email, MMS, SMS, etc. I tried clicking on the "view folder" in the menu and the phone has separate sent folders for MMS and SMS but not for email.

Am I missing something or does the "sent" folder for emails only come with BES? I find that weird given that the messages are stored on the phone anyway. Just need a way to view them without changing a global setting.

Thanks!

Mmm folder wise I don't know. But you can go click the BB Button and click Search then change it to only sent items and view all sent items . Does that help?

They probably get stored in the system together, but marked as being for a certain account, so that like on my phone, I have a separate icon each for both my mindspring account and my gmail account, which I configured with the Email Setup program. It's not really important where they're stored, as long as the system is able to differentiate them when displayed, or acted upon. Also, all new email, and new calls, and voice mails are all displayed when you click the messages button.

hi rhn1975,

IMHO since your Storm is essentially a portable email client and not an endpoint for your emails (meaning that all emails sent to the Storm are in one form or another stored elsewhere). The only way I can see to isolate your sent messages is to follow the advice of zkyevolved above.

Of course you can take it a step further if you will need this function often.

1.) From the "Messages" screen press the BB Menu key.

2.) Select the "Search" option.

3.) Adjust the "Show" option to "Sent Only"

4.) Set the " Type" option to "Email"

5.) Scroll to the top of this screen and under the "Name" setting, give this search an applicable name such as "Sent Emails".

6.) Press the BB Menu key again and select "Save"

You're done.

Now press the BB Menu key again and select "Search" in order to perform the search now and effectively isolate all sent emails.

In order to repeat the same search without having to enter all the parameters again simply do the following.

1.) From the Messages screen press the BB Menu key and select "Search"

2.) Press the BB Menu key again and select "Recall"

3.) Select the "Sent Emails" search from earlier.

4.) Press the BB Menu button again and select search.

You're done once again.

The search can be much more fine tuned to reflect your needs. Play with the menus, see whats there.
