Does it matter to you not being able to talk and use data at same time?

Do any of you Storm users run into situations when you can't talk on the phone and use the data connection (check email, look up something on maps) at the same time?
That is the thing that is on my mind about joining Verizon.
Or does this not even come up for you?

Diegosalinas,
To tell you the truth, this hadn't even crossed my mind until you brought it up. I do tech support and often, while on the phone, refer to emails that I've already received, notes, contact info and whatnot. However I have never needed to go online for anything while on with a client.
So for me this is definitely a non-issue.

for me personally its a nice feature to have but it has never prevented me from being prodcutive. I would evaluate your situation and decide if its a feature you need to have. I see you are on a curve now, so you have been living without it already (assuming your profile is correct). I just switched back to verizon mainly becuase i moved back to the northeast and verizon has the best coverage in my area, most of those i speak with are vzw, and a corp discount on my plan. The only thing i hate about vzw is the phone selection (except the storm). If you aren't a complete phone addict like me and service is good in your area verizon is fine. I will just try my hardest to keep the storm a while!

I have had no issue with EVDO either, text messages still come through while I am on the phone, however I never notice the data missing. I have used the Bold on AT&T and while it was neat to see the data work while on a call, I truly never used it, other than to see if it worked once.

Never needed to use data while on a call. Can't say I never will, but in the even I do I can always just call the person back.

Even when I had the 8320 on TMobs, I never used data while in a phone call. I'm too easily distracted, so it's better for me that I just stay on the phone and then worry about data stuff later.

it is a nice feature that CDMA can't provide it now. I was able to do it on the iphone 3G with ATT while talking on the phone and searched info thru the web. However, ATT 3G network is not stable. That is the reason I switch over Verizon.

Yes, it happenned to me half an hour ago in Movistar - Spain...
I was updating my Viigo channels and a person from the office has called me to the mobile. Surprisingly, I haven't received the call, altough the line was with full coverage and not in use.
I have tested again now, and it is like you say: when you are using data, the mobile is unreachable.
Moreover, in my case, I get an SMS from a Movistar service (the service that alerts you when you make a call, the number is occupied and then when it is available you receive a SMS saying that it's available), with an unknown number, like saying to me that this number is now available. It's quite strange...

I just had an issue with it. I was watching the beginning of the national championship on slingplayer, and every time I would receive a txt or e-mail, it would pause the video for a little while until it reconnected. Not really that big a deal, but it's a bit annoying.
