Lightbulb Trackwheel noise?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a replacement 8700g that tmo sent me a few days ago. I notice that when I scroll up and down with the trackwheel, there is a noticeable "clicking" noise. My last trackwheel was silent when I scrolled through.

Is there a way to disable the noise? Is this normal?

Is it a mechanical clicking noise or is it an actual click sound from the speaker? A mechanical clicking noise from the wheel is normal.

It's a mechanical clicking noise (coming directly from the trackwheel)... not the speaker.

bbbrandy, I do believe that is normal from the trackwheel.

It's normal. Some trackwheels have more of a click than others.

Yeah, I had a feeling it was normal, just figured I'd check into it. Since my 7105t had that discernable "click" to it, I guess some have it and others don't.

Thanks for your quick replies!

That's interesting. I do not have this issue with the noise with my trackball.

Could it be that the fact about myself is that I am deaf and that I cannot hear it at all contribute to my assessment of the noise?

I would highly encourage you to become deaf to rectify this noise issue. (Not officially, do so at your own risk!)
