Default Google Calendar Sync for blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

I am having problems viewing any calendars other than the default calendar in Google Sync. I think the program is supposed to automattically read your calendar list and it used to be working correctly. However I added a new calendar and I was trying to get it to show up in google sync. I tried resetting and reinstalling and now I only have the default calendar.

Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a way to force it to read the list from the google calendar server?

Google Sync allows for your BB built-in calendar to sync with your Google online calendar, and vice versa. If you're not seeing both, you may want to wipe your BB, to restore to defaults, hence restoring your built-in calendar. And then you can try to install the Google Sync app as well.

Default google sync

I am able to view my Blackberry calendar. My problem is that under options in Google Sync I cannot select/view any calendars other than the default selection. I have reinstalled Google Sync but still having same issue.

Seems to be a known issue with 4.5. Google has a help group here: Discussions - Google Mobile on BlackBerry devices | Google Groups

Hopefully you will find your solution there!

Yes, known issue, and I've not yet found any resolution. The problem exists in 4.5 as well as 4.3. Most likely culprit is the new version (0.4.4) of Google Sync.

Some people are having problems with 0.4.4 of Google Sync and BB 4.3, but I have 2 way sync on all of my calendars. Not sure why mine is working and others are having issues.

Have you done this?

AFTER your first sync against your Google calendar;

Google Sync>Options>(go down to "sync these calendars" and press trackball.)

Your Google calendars should all be listed here, and you should be able to select which one(s) you want to sync on your BBerry.

Default still the same with 4.6

Yep I've tried syncing after the first sync, allowing it to download the calendars. It even says downloading calendar list, but doesnt bring up anything beside default.

I also tried versiono 4.6 and still not having any luck.

0.4.6 is out. Fixes sync issues with 4.5 devices.

Anyone notice that sync no longer shows up as an option at that site?

Sync 0.4.6 still seems to have major issues on my AT&T 8310 Curve running OS 4.5.

I can now see all of my calendars, but sync almost always times out because it takes so long (5 minutes). I'm only syncing about 30 calendar items. I've also tried logging out of sync to see if that would help, but about 50% of the time, I can't log back into sync.

The other issue is that appointments entered in the BB don't get synced back to Google Calendar. When sync is successful (rarely) everything seems to come from Google Calendar to the BB fine, but nothing ever goes the other direction.

So it seems that 0.4.6 is slightly better than 0.4.4, but still pretty useless.

Suggestions?

Ok. Now I'm getting successful two-way sync, but haven't changed anything since yesterday. I did get a few items that duplicated themselves in my BB calendar after some unsuccessful syncs, but I logged out of sync and deleted the duplicate items on the BB. When I logged back in, everything seems to work. Strange.

I wonder if something changed yesterday at Google or AT&T...

Oh well. Maybe it will keep working.

Now it's being flaky again. Sync fails about half the time and events don't transfer from the BB to Google Calendar.

On top of that, Google Calendar in my computer's browser is being unusually slow. Anyone else experiencing this? Is the problem strictly on Google's end? Is Calendar just screwed up?

0.4.6 fixed everything for me. Remember that all calendar events prior to the update will not sync.

I'm aware that events prior to install will not sync. I've actually deleted all items from my BB calendar, used Desktop Manager to clear my BB calendar database, deleted the calendar service books, reinstalled google sync, resent the service books, and re-logged in to sync. (not sure if it was that exact order) And I've done all of that multiple times. It still won't work reliably.

The only time that sync actually succeeds is in the middle of the night. It almost never works during the day which is why I was wondering if there's some sort of congestion problem with Google Calendar. My other internet data on the BB seems to work fine, but the Google Sync (0.4.6) consistently fails. Often after logging out of sync, it takes multiple tries to log back in.

I'm getting pretty sick of this because sync used to work just fine.
