Well if you buy an unlocked Storm, you'd have to buy one from overseas since you can't use Verizon phones on the AT&T service. And from what I understand the overseas Storms are on a different 3G frequency than AT&T so you'd have to use EDGE only. But if that works for you I'd say go for it!

Yeah and it won't have 3G here in the US. At least that's my understanding.

All speculation right now on how the operating system really works! Not many people have actually used one with the final software that Vzw will ship it with. Storm drops on Nov 24! So we'll have to just wait and see how it compares to the Bold, as well as the iphone.

And since the carrier won't have the service books for it you will not have a native BB Browser either.

I'm debating the same thing. I have the Curve and My Gf has the Pearl through T-mo right now. I am contemplating jumping ship tho either Vzw or At&t, and we both either go with the storm or the bold? I just don't know which direction to go? How different is the Bold compared to the Curve? I know that my GF will get an upgrade because the pearl is even older than my curve. So, I just don't know yet, Bold or Storm??

I have the Bold and have seen my buddies Storm (Whom works for RIM) and definately am happy I went with the Bold, however the Storm is nice don't get me wrong.
Here is an interesting read from this morning from Gizmodo!

I have a Bold with ATT in work, but have Verizon at home so I could easily try both, but I'm sticking with the Bold with its wi-fi and its physical qwerty keyboard. The Storm is nice enough, but the reviews point to typing issues on the touch screen. I couldn't stand the Iphone for that reason, and I don't even like my kid's Itouch. I will remain Bold and am only jealous of the better camera.

I am pretty sure I will give it a try. I have the Bold, iPhone 3G and T-Mo G1 right now. I have made the decision to return G1 because coverage in NC stinks, so I will probably give the storm run through.

Bold FTW..!
The keypad on the Bold is a dream, the WiFi is a great feature and the 3G is nice [I get good coverage]. Touch screens do not peak my interest at all, but I also need a keypad that I can pound out emails / texts / PIN's on because that is my communication of choice.

Bold all the way!!! I have a friend of mine who just went this morning in a Verizon store to check the Storm out. He's a heavy BB user like me. He said "I don't think I will get one", so that means that nothing can beat a real keyboard. He also mentionned that the Storm felt weird in his hands....

Wi-Fi and physical keyboard are the deal breakers for me personally. However, my wife is qualified for a re-up with Verizon and we are looking to purchase one today. Just waiting on a call back from a local store for their shipment to come in.

I've got to say that the Storm is a lot more impressive than I thought it would be! I chose the Bold over a week ago and it has been quite an improvement over the Pearl that I had been using over the past two years. As I used the full keyboard on the Storm today at first I found my fingers to be too large for its small screen. Yet when I changed the keyboard to simulate that of my old Pearl--- Wow what a difference!! I found that I could type much faster than my Pearl or Bold.
So for those of you that are Pearl users you may want to give the Storm a closer look!

Have the Bold, played with the Storm today, in thought of buying it.
Conclusion: Stay with the Bold!!
Storms benefits:
Bigger, less bright screen - and the screen really only makes the bigger difference watching video
3.2 MP camera
Storms deficiencies:
Keyboard - nicer than iPhone, but, I miss the 3D feel of the keys being there, to slide your finger from one letter to another.
EVERYTHING takes longer on the Storm then the Bold, especially the keyboard. They are right about the sort of lag itme you need ot wait, for the screen to click up, before you can click down again.
Very bad to edit, because you gotta use your finger to find the place you want to out the cursor. The "pearl" ball is much better for that.
