Default Blackberry beats iPhone hands down with Transfer speeds

Please Login to Remove!

There's been a lot of hype on how the iPhone beats the blackberry with media. And people naturally assume it. However the facts and science behind it support blackberry has a more solid device. That even the Pearl tops the iPhone... as seen below in this article...

"Blackberry Bold/Pearl 8130 downloaded movies nearly 3 times faster than the iphone at a rate of 13.9 Mbytes/Sec with Movies, TV & CD's. While the iphone 3G was moving only at 5 Mbytes/Sec... RIM's secret here is the Cypress Semiconductor CYWB0124AB... Another great thing that Gregory discovered that they other phones couldn't do is "you can still watch video and listen to music on the BlackBerry's internal memory while downloading content to the MicroSD card" Gadgets, iPhone, Nokia, Google, Android, Phones, Samsung, Blackberry & Software Review Blog: Blackberry Pearl and Bold slams iphone in Media speed test(RIM's secret revealed)

This doesn't definitively prove anything. Who relies on this specific type of data transfer on a day-to-day basis? I'm certain for most average users there are other more important concerns.

Yes, selecting a device based solely on hype is a mistake. However, it doesn't mean that a hyped device isn't suited for certain people.

The entire article if you read closely it is based on facts that do prove the BB is more capable that the iPhone with Transfer rates. It doesn't state that because of that, it's a more suitable device. It does prove to make a difference to people who have large media cards and use heavy data/music/ video etc. That it would take them 5 min to complete a task rather than nearly 25 minutes...

"iPhone would take 23 minutes, the BlackBerry 5 minutes when using direct file transfer"

So if you do use a lot of data transfer it's helpful to you... If all you don't maybe not...
