Wow. I'm impressed so far! I had some trouble getting it to start working though. Initially it was allowing blacklisted calls to come through with access to call logs and keystroke permissions allowed/enabled. I just kept playing around with it and ended up enabling all permissions and doing a battery pull and it works great!

The "hang up" feature - on my network this creates a busy tone and doesn't allow any messages to be left and there is no indicator of a missed call either by icon or in the BB call log. To see if someone actually called I have to check the I Call log.

The "busy tone" feature - seems to do the same as B&W list. Sends call to voice mail but the call is still logged in as normal through the BB.

The "mute tone" feature - on my phone it doesn't quite mute it. My ringtone is played VERY quietly! lol and the call is normally logged into the BB.

For this to become more intuitive I think the developer should switch the functions for "hang up" and "busy tone."

The developer is doing a great job and this sure has come a long way. I've been following for quite some time now. I've deleted every version of ICall off my phone so far and keep reverting back to B&W list but I think I'll hang onto this one!

....as a follow up to my last post above...

Has anyone tried calling your voicemail while the blacklist and "hang up" feature are enabled? When I do I will connect, hear the first second or two of the voice prompts and then it disconnects. When I turn it to "accept all" I can call voicemail again.

Also, if I were to go into to my group lists and then choose "view/edit" a contact and then when viewing the contact if I select "edit contact" to change or add a number I get an uncaught exception java error.

If anyone is in contact with the developer maybe they could forward these issues to him?! Thanks...

Thanks for the address. Email sent. I've noticed that it's not just when I call my voicemail. Sometimes it just disconnects when I call any random person. Very odd...

8703e(v4.2) and 8130 (v4.3) are not support.
I can't test on that OS. I'll test it as soon as v4.3 is available for Pearl, 8800 or 870x.

As I know, "hang up" feature will not 100% success to accept incoming calls as it rely on keystroke injection.

This is one and only technique to accept incoming call for latest API.
If RIM add more phone API or ANY that relate to phone action in the future I'll APPLY to avoids using keystroke injection.

How do you register iCall lite if you never used B&W? I see no option from the web site. Also, any need to register right now? Seems to work but perhaps less features activated?

Default Anybody try the new release (Jan-30)?

I noticed they released a new update on Jan 30. Anybody tried it? I'm wondering how it works with the 8310.

I've recently tried the new version 1.0.4.

In 1.0.3 the "hang up" feature really did give an actual busy tone and the "busy tone" feature just went straight to voicemail. I was really happy with the program until I noticed that when I had the blacklist enabled and the "hang up" (the true busy tone) selected it wouldn't allow me to make outgoing phone calls. Had to delete it. :( It would connect and then disconnect very quickly.

In the new version it seems the developer just took out this feature. It now only gives you the option of "mute" or "busy tone" which really only sends the call to voicemail. I can make my calls mute through profiles/exceptions and send others to voicemail with the earlier program of Black & Whitelist which seems to be more stable.

I'm still using 1.0.3, mainly because I didn't notice the upgrade yet. I'm set to blacklist and have hang up selected, unknown/private reject, and outbound calls work for me.

That's the oddest thing. At first I thought it was only my voicemail that did it. It would happen when I held down the "1" key to auto dial. Then I noticed that it would randomly do the same thing to other numbers I dialed. The call would ring, I would audilbly hear it connect and then I would maybe get the first part of a "hello" from the other party and it would disconnect. If I went back in to iCall and set it to "busy tone" (really a send to voicemail) in the blacklist mode or set it to "Accept all" it would be fine.

I emailed the developer the issue and he mentioned that he had just received another email detailing the same problem. I guess that's why he took the feature out of 1.0.4 until it works properly...

Unhappy

I'm another person that I,Call Manager lite isn't working as it should.
Ver. 1.0 worked fine on my T-Mo pearl 8100.
I just upgraded to a 8320/Curve it shiped with os 4.2.2.180 and I purchased B&Wlist 1.30 (glade I did) for the curve then upgraded to i.call manager for free but now its ver 1.0.4 and the problems are here. I get a half volume ring (2 rings) then it rings at normal volume (2 rings) then it will finaly kick the caller I have set to hang up. Not sure if its because of ver.1.0.4 os 4.2.2.180 or both but it isn't working as it should.
B&W list 1.30 works fine so its getting loaded back on my curve but I,call manager is what I want to have loaded because of hang up mode as I'm sure most of us wanted the program for in the first place.
I just hope Mr C. gets this bug fixed but he has a lot of pots in the fire right now so who knows. :(

Our Free voicemail service with our carriers is pretty basic. The phones are pre-programed to dial a VM # that is different than your phone. We are not forced to go that way, so I opted to re-direct my voicemail to Ringcentral.com Professional plan for $9.99 month ($120 year) includes 100 incoming minutes + 6.7 minute. Comes with 5 extentions and a bunch of cool features with unlimited call blocking, etc. The toll-free number you choose reveals your blocked callers which allows you to add a specific rule just for them assigned only to their number when they call, so when a prank caller leaves you a nasty (for example) you could record a special announcement just for them for the next time they call by saying something like "you dirty filthy rotten scumbag, I know who you are and the FBI is coming to get you"....(and quote their phone number...they'll be in shock and awe thinking how in the hell did you know who they are - better yet do a reverse search for their address using their number you now have and quote where they live too!). Or, you could use AT&T text to speech and type in a nasty message for them when they call, save it to your desktop as a .wav file then upload it to that specific announcement or message. AT&T Labs Text-to-Speech: Demo

Adding Rules feature is pretty awsome dd rules for each of your friends numbers to record a special message just for them when they call. The fun never ends.

Here's the set-up in my BB 8800:
Go to phone options screen (hit dial button then left click for pop-up menu)
Scroll down to Option and select it
In my menu I can select Voice Mail, which is the number that the speed dial 1 key dials. I changed that to my Ringcentral.com toll-free number. Save your number and exit.
Scroll to Call Forwarding and select it. You should see Forward Unsanswered Calls and three choices: "If Busy, No Reply, and If Not Reachable" with a number after each, which is your voicemail. The "If Busy" number is when a caller comes in and you press the "hang up key" on them while your phone is ringing, No Reply is when you don't answer, and If Not Reachable is when your phone is off or out of network range. I changed all three of these to my toll-free Ring Central number.

Once your calls are captured by your Ringcentral number you have lots of things you can do with the call, and now you know the phone number of every single caller who has their caller ID blocked and you have it logged on your web account manager too at Ringcentral. With the iBerry or Antair software installed on your BB the calls would not just be dumped into your wireless carriers basic VM...they would be properly handled by your new RingCentral toll free virtual number ....trashing them....or adding a special rule on how you would like to handle that specific number when it reaches your Ringcentral virtual toll-free number. Its truly amazing what you can do with every single caller....and so much more! I'm hooked on it and will never ever go back to my wireless carriers VM again! I now get all my VM's in a .wav file to I listen to them on my audio player...that right there alone saves me the minutes which pays for the Ringcentral service....

Is the sw fixed for the curve yet? It states Curve is supported at Handigo site. I downloaded the free trial and it put a file on my pc, but I am a BB newbee, how do I go about installing this file that has an app extention I have never heard of. I also see that some folks are suggesting the I just setup the profile of the number I want to block to mute, I do not see or find this option on the 8320 curve, is it there?? If this sw is still not working on the curve where can I go to get the B&W list 1.30 software?

So I take it that it won't work on my 8320 v4.5.010?
