Default Mystery Tone

Please Login to Remove!

I am not exactly sure when this started happening, but once or twice a day by BB plays a tone, which I assumed was some sort of alert. But I've searched and searched for what I was being alerted to and cannot find anything. Anyone know of a way for me to identify what is making the alert?

What exact OS version is on the device?

Go to Options > Status and read the third line.

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

Did you get this in a MMS message at some point?

I think dankarlinski was asking if the tone that plays had been sent to you in an MMS message.

Oh, I don't believe so. The sound does not indicate a new MMS either. I actually haven't heard it since my original post, but like I said, I only have heard it a few times.

My guess is browser alert!

Are you subscribed to one of the browser push services, like Accuweather?

If you are and have the profile set a certain way, it will alert each time the data refreshes. Mine was defaulted to BBRelaxed_Levitate out of the box and it only does it if I use the LOUD profile.

I bet you're right. I just installed Accuweather! Is there a way to check what sound is used by it for alerts?

Go to Sounds (icon usually to top left of screen) > Set Ring Tones/Alerts > Other and expand it. It's probably in there and you should be able to change it or turn it off. Also there might be an option within the program to enable/disable it.
