Standby Mode using Mute Button

I'm on a Verizon 8130. When I use the Mute button to enter Standby Mode, I get a confirmation box, "Entering standby mode. Press the Mute key again to exit standby mode" with the option OK or Cancel. I then have to select OK to actually enter standby mode.
On my old 8830, pressing the Mute button showed the "Entering standby mode..." message but then automatically went into standby without the OK or Cancel.
Is there a way to turn off the confirmation so it goes right into standby mode?
