It was a very fast response. I would encourage all of you to e-mail the address referenced at the beginning of this thread if you have any problems/issues.
OMG LOL
I must have tried every key but that one!
thanks for the post.

The device comes up as connected, but when I hit the sync button, the status bar slowly moves along, and PUFFF the box goes away. Then I get the infamous "unexpectedly closed" message.

But, I'll give you one better. I tried running the software on my macbookpro and the program won't even start. It installed perfectly, but when I click the icon, it bounces up and down on the dock, and they magically disappears (with no mention of any errors).

Whats the name of the Icon? I ended up with two one works and one does the same thing as yours.

Thank You,
Sorry but the DMG (~24MB) is too big to email. If you have a file server somewhere I can upload it to you.

Turning off notes helped me get around a hanging problem too. Thanks for the tip!

Default Not getting Phone field from 8700

Hi. In order to get addresses onto the pearl, I had to sync my 8700 on my wifes computer and then sync the 8100 to the addresses form my 8700.

After syncing the 8700, i noticed that pocketmac didn't sync any phone numbers on my BB which are just listed in the "Phone" field...

Anyone know how to grab these?

After I sent in my first results, I received an email from PocketMac informing me that the Beta was intended to be closed/limited, and that whomever posted the .dmg file initially, did so without permission. The file will remain offline until the closed Beta is complete. There may be another Open Beta later, or it may go straight to production, the email did not specify.

I tested a full 2-way sync with my 8700 and encountered no issues with duplicate notes (as in 3.x), no dropped phone numbers, no addresses in wrong place (home in work section), no duped calendars or incorrect repeat entries.

In short, 4.x seems to be what we've been waiting for. Well, for those that can get it to work at any rate

For all you having issues, have you used Onyx or ****tail recently? I use Onyx at least once a month to keep OS X in good shape. Might want to consider it if you don't.

It worked for me until I installed a mico sd card. And now it hangs. I must say that I am disappointed in RIM. They should not make us wait like this.

Any yes I use OnyX once a month. The fact that one person does not have a problem doesn't mean the software is ready for prime time.

When this happens, can you open "Activity Monitor" and make sure "all processes" are selected... Is the CPU eaten up by something you don't recognize?

is there any way anyone can host the DMG? I would really like to try out the new program and it seems like they have taken it down.

Thanks in advance

If you have the file, please consider creating a bit torrent file. No FTP server or host necessary. We'll take it from there...

Anyone who can provide a link to d/l in a PM please do so. I'd really like an opportunity to try the software before release.

Okay, for those who need to get the beta. I set up an account at mediamax.com. The username is "pm4bb_beta", and the password is "blackberry." The DMG is there. It's a free account, and the site only permits 1 GB per day in downloads, so hurry up. I don't know how to turn it into a torrent and post it, so I'll let someone else do that.

I guess when they said a limited beta they meant not open to the public. I would guess there server got to much traffic when everyone started downloading the beta or they got too many email about bugs.

yeah, I guess. But you would think that all the people dying for a good sync that would submit proper beta reports... that would be invaluable. Maybe they have forgotten that beta testers do so much of the work. So that when they release they have less headaches with pissed off end users.
