Default switching carriers confused about BIS

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry I know there have been lots of posts about this but I just need to clarify because I've been mighty confused

So I'm planning on buying an unlocked bold 9900 when it comes out.. But I have a problem I have a service contract on Vodafone AU (which I will be able to change my data plan to get blackberry data) However I will be exiting this plan around August...

I will then be swapping to Telstra where I will be getting a new contract (with BB data)

From what I read... I make a BIS account with Vodafone.. then when I want to change I just contact them and ask them to delete / release my PIN & IMEI and then I can swap to Telstra no problem? Or is there more to that??

Thanks in advance

PS the phone is compatible with both networks

Default Re: switching carriers confused about BIS

When you cancel your service with Voda, ask that they also cancel your BIS account. that will release the PIN so you can set up email, etc., with the new carrier on their BIS site.
