Thumbs up Bb 7250 And Tomtom Go 700

I had the same problem with the BB 7250. I contacted both TOMTOM, and BB to resolve this problem. I decide to send an email to BB HQ asking for expansion capabilities with the TTGO700. I did not get a reply but TT has created a firmware ver 5.42 that will allow pairing of your device with the TT. Just go to their website, and download the patch and it will do the rest.

So, for you folks who connected their 8700 to a TomTom...why? I'm deciding between a Garmin and a TomTom. Initially, the TomTom was seeming extremely interesting. But if the TomTom is just providing you with a speakerphone, why is that any better than the built-in speakerphone? And, also, do any of you already use a BT headset with your 8700? Again, why use the TomTom rather than the headset?

Last, the most intriguing thing about the TomTom was its ability to incorporate things like downloadable voices, traffic, etc. But if the 8700 won't bring down data, then what is the BT connection buying you?

Thanks for helping me make this decision!

Default Tomtom 510 with 8700V (pairs but cannot increase vol)

I have just purchased a Tomtom 510 unit, my 8700v pairs with the device but again no tomtom plus services. Main problem is that the tomtom throws a wobble and disconnects my phone when i try to turn the volume up or down within the tomtom menu. Volume stays at half way on blackberry and wont alter.

any thoughts anyone???

I just picked up a TT500 from one of my employees that left the company and paired it with my 7100v with no problems for handsfree. It wont download the phone book or access the PLUS services either.

I have downloaded the lates TT update, but the previous owner lost the card with the product code on it, so I can't upgrade until I have fought with TT support to see if they will re-issue a new one.

Only other alternative is to keep my old Nokia in the car & swap the SIM card when I want to use the TomTom ;-(

Just tried it, only the handsfree and phonebook utilities no over the air services.
A friend has a 7100 on 4.1 and I've seen it work with all TT Go 700 services,my 8700 will only do what other people have listed - no plus services.I struggled to get TT Go 500 to allow all services with my Nokia 6310,could it be a TomTom issue?

paired my 7100v with the TT 910. Sound is excellent but the external microphone (tried several ones) sucks. Could it be that the bluetooth connection is troubling the connection?
