When I open my call log from the home screen, I get a list of my contacts. Why? And how do I get back to just all calls made or received?

The Call Log automatically uses your contact list to put a name to each number you've called or from which you've received a call. If the number doesn't appear in your address book it shows as the phone number only.

Open the phone app and use the Manu key to select Options > Call Logs and Lists. You have some user-customizable choices there.

I have the same problem. Changing the settings does nothing. I've had the whole phone reloaded - same issue. A friend of mine also has noticed this recently. I think it is a problem with a recent update, cause another friend who never updates does not have the problem. Same phone - Curve 8530.

I'm noticing other people even as far back as 2009 having the same issue with getting the contact list when hitting the call log. So, that probably isn't an update issue. Mine showed up right after I started using encryption on the phone, and now, no matter what I or the Sprint techs do - the problem still occurs.

Might be an issue specific to the 8520/8530. None of my devices experience that.
