I haven't heard this officially but my guess is that the lock function has been changed permanently. The changes are too "changed" to be accidental. The new lock feature actually makes much more sense than before. I never understood the logic behind a 'standby' feature AND a lock feature on the same device. Now if you have a password set it's password locked. If not, then it's just a keypad lock. I like it.

There is no lock icon. Why do you need a lock icon?

All i need (like many other folks) is to be able to set my left conv. key to lock the keypad without a password. I am so used to it since i bought my first berry

I went back to .411 just for that function

Why not use the dedicated lock key on the top?

This OS is for the 9700 Bold. Is that what you have? I realized I left that out and just added the 9700 to the thread title.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

I've never used the 9000 but it must still have a simple way to lock it. Either the K key or push and hold the button on the top.
