Default 400 MP3's, but only 200 show up

Please Login to Remove!

I am using a BB 8830 with a 2GB MicroSD chip. I have loaded 400 songs onto the card, however only about 200 songs show up when I pop the card into the BB 8830.

Why am I only seeing half of the songs? Is there a character limit, or does it have to do with ID tags? How do I rectify this problem?

Thanks.

When you click properties on your media card, what does it say in terms of your free space?

Are you looking at the same folder on your device as it shows on the DM?

Which format are the songs in. For example, avi takes up a lot more space than wmv

Also if they are protected they may not show up. How did you load them?

Is there an error message that exists tellingthe person it is a protected file. I wonder if the person had burned the music first.

I have 12mb of free space. I have 363 MP3 songs loaded onto the card.
I loaded them up through windows explorer. Put them all in the "music" folder
I even renamed all the songs to be <32 characters long.

When I go into the media player and click "explore" I can see all 363 songs. However when I go into "Music" that is where I only see half of the songs in the play list.

The 12mb is probably the free space in your device, not the card.

Is the extension of the file, mp3?

I am thinking you ran out of space.

What is average size of a song in your device after you copied down?

Unfortunetely none of the problems that have been posted was the source.

I figured it out. I turned the BB off and took out the battery. Went back into media player and let it sit for about 5min to load all the songs.

I now see all the songs. I haven't done anything different.

The 12mb free space is on my card... not device.
