hey guys my blackberry torch 9800 4GB keyboard
dont work if the slide is open

ie the internal one

but whatever i type in to it seems to type when i close the slide

any ideas why ?


and if so can it be fixed ?

as its now out of warranty and its only just gone like this

nope never got wet or dropped just went like this for no reason

but as i said when u close the slide

what ive typed on the keyboard appears

do u think its a slide issue ??

That sounds really odd. Unless the keyboard has some sort of internal buffer, and the ribbon is only connecting when you slide it, perhaps it's really just a big delay. What happens if you type something and then wait a while?

And does the virtual keyboard respond immediately?

It does nothing till I slide it shut

But now its getting worse having issues with the screen going back and a few slides slowly gets it back

No delay in the touch keyboard it works perfectly that way

I think you must tell to your mobile service center about this problem and most of the phone have a problem that slider not work properly,as I was also suffering from this problem and after servicing it work properly.
