Default Wi-Fi limitations

Please Login to Remove!

total newbie here,
according to the At&T blackberry info site the 8320 provides access to all AT&T Wi-Fi providers. Now, does that mean that you would be limited to AT&T wi-fi? or would you be able to access other wi-fi spots? also are you limited to a whole bunch of Dead zones if you go AT&T?

Wirelessly posted

You should be able to access any wireless access point.

With dead zones (I assume you are talking about cell phone service), it really depends on where you live. Some carriers like Tmobile have maps on their websites that let you look at what sort of reception you can expect for the area you live and work in.

When it comes to deciding on a blackberry device, first choose your carrier, then choose the phone. It sounds like you might be going with AT&T. If that's the case know that another great option is the Bold -- it has 3G and wifi whereas the 8320 only has wifi. Best way to go about deciding on what to get is to visit a local store and check out the device in person. See how it fits in your hand (the Bold is a bit bigger than the Curve and some people may not like that), test out the keys to see which one might suit you better.
