Default Media Card Problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I am a newcomer to BlackBerry. I have a Curve 8330 with software version 4.5.0.77 installed. I have a 2GB MicroSD card installed and my computer will not reconize it. The BlackBerry regonizes it, however it does not show up in "My Computer". The "Media" utility in the Desktop Manager does not register the card either. How can I transfer media to my card? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

You need to go into options media and allow access to the card.

Mass Storage mode is enabled.

Also Media Card Support is set to on.

The phone can access the card no problem. When it is connected to the computer, the software cannot access the card.

Check your settings for "Auto enable mass storage mode when connected." Make sure its set to yes or prompt.

Ok back in the same menu make a change to something and then change it back. Press the menu key and select save. I remember sometimes when I had issues with my media card, selecting the save sorta helped to set things right.

If that doesn't work, have you tried a reset or battery pull?

I have the latest version of Desktop Manager. It accesses the BlackBerry no problem. For whatever reason, my computer can't read the card through the BlackBerry. When I put the card in a card reader however, I can access it. It's just kinda annoying because I don't feel like taking the batter out every time I want to access the card.

Most likely a driver issue on your computer, I would try the normal steps:

Run a Scan Virus/Spyware
Clear any Temp files
Do a windows update

and give it a shot.

You've tried multiple USB ports and you are NOT using a USB hub right? Try plugging straight into the back of the computer.

Try Checking your computer BIOS settings, Many have option to manually enable the
"HIGH SPEED USB SUPPORT."
If you have another USB Port try connecting to that.
Lastly use a card reader on computer and check if it reads your SD Card, if not, its not your device is your MC for some reasons.

Exclamation Same issue

I've had an identical problem with my 8330, and found an interesting caveat. If and only if I set Mas Media mode to auto, remove password protection to my bb, then turn off the power, then plug in the bb and then turn power back on, I'll always get Mass media mode to work! However, if password protection is on, this method won't work.

I've duplicated this exact problem on three different computers, two with Vista one with XP, so it isn't computer related, it is a BB issue of some sort. The card has been formatted twice, it always works fine in the computer media slot, just not when in the BB. Anyone else have any ideas?
