Yes. I have this OS installed. All the Chinese input systems are available in this OS as well as simplified and traditional character font support.

I just installed it and selected font display and simplified pinyin yet my email's not displaying right. I'm going to reinstall it again.

Installed and working fine. Still have the same BT and UMA issues with the headset. Last version that worked at all with this config was .175. Otherwise seems to be a good OS, quite snappy and leaves me with ~15mb free memory when all apps have been opened and closed after a restart and activation.

Will report anything else I find with it. So far I haven't seen the myfaves application anywhere even though the module for it did get loaded.

BTW, while UMA was established I still had my headset connected via bluetooth. When I disconnected the headset, it dropped the UMA and reverted back to EDGE, and has now re-established the UMA connection.

Odd, it never did that before...

Chinese support only works with text messages. Can't display emails in chinese.

Also, i've lost internet browser. In browser options, I can only choose from t-zones and wifi browser. I'll use this for a day to see if there are any effects.

losing internet browser is real real annoying. Can't browse now without wifi. My weather report in pocket day don't work anymore. Damn it. I'm going back to .180.

Interesting. Pocket Day is working fine. Browsing is fine. Did you re-enter your TCP information?

My exact same thoughts minus the BT & UMA issue you're having.

I installed it and Chinese reading and input seem to be working fine on mine.

In my previous OS, 180, I had deleted the myFaves app. When I upgraded, it came back (as expected since I didn't delete anything off the Shared folder). Maybe your myFaves app is just hidden.

John,

I have a quick question for you. I bought a TMO 8320 last week, I have a Macbook that I use and the curve doesnt work as a BT modem. Has this been resolved with this new OS?

If they don't fix this problem I do not have need for the curve since my 8700 works as a modem. I have been waiting for the curve and some of its functions but if the BT stack isnt fixed its a waste for me if I dont use bootcamp or some program to run DM.

If you have any info on the BT stack please share.

Did you reregister the device by going to Options >Advanced Options >Host Routing Table >Menu: Regiser Now

There seems to be some problem with the BT tethering for the curve and Mac's. I have used an 8700g running 4.2 and it worked, also have tried an 8800 and had success. But with the curve it will not connect unless you do a hard reset and then it will only last a few seconds before disconnecting.

I am hoping they resolve this soon because I dont want to keep a phone I cant use as a BT modem for my Mac. I dont use DM anymore since I switched to Mac's but am wondering if the new upgrade resolves this problem. Thanks for the quick reply.

Sorry, I don't tether via bluetooth (too slow) and don't have a Mac (won't go there.)

There have been bluetooth issues with GPS pucks since 4.2.1 was introduced. That being said, I've had pretty good luck with my Curve.

Your problem sounds just like the issue between the application bbtracker and bluetooth GPS pucks, though.

No, I didn't go to adv options and renter my hosting table info. I guess that's why. I'll prob wait a week before I reinstall this new firmware to make sure there aren't any other issues you guys discover, lol.

FWIW, I have had one spontaneous reboot while trying to get a wifi connection with this OS. This is the first time I've had this device reboot on me since I've had it. I've had .171, .175, .180 and not had the issue. One time I'll call a fluke. If it happens again.....

Beyond that I've had no issues with this OS. Working fine.

I would be interested in hearing about Wifi stability (not UMA, just wifi) from anyone who's upgraded. Currently with .180 sometimes my Wifi says it's connected but nothing actually works, it seems to be if I've connected then let the device sit idle for awhile, then use it - it'll work right away for the first couple of minutes after idle, then die. I've thought about going back to .175 where it wasn't as bad... it still dies, but nowhere near as frequently.

Y'all let us know, this would pretty much be the only reason for me personally to upgrade.
