Default How to do 1-way Sync?

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know how to configure the synchronization to work only 1-way? That is, I would like to use Outlook to overwrite my mobile phone at all times.

in the desktop manager, double click the sync icon and you can configure it in there.

Question

Hey, great diagrams and instructions!

I actually use 2-way sync, but for future reference, when you choose IMPORT does outlook import from the BB or does BB import from outlook??

Default RE: Works!

Thanks for the great instructions...it worked perfectly!

Aside to PCGirl - Import is 1-way from Outlook to Blackberry. There is an Export feature too which is probably 1-way from Blackberry to Outlook

Nice to be able to do this. I keep my sync so that handheld device over rules Outlook at all times as all I use Outlook for is a backup.

I would just like to import email addresses to my BB from Outlook but Sync doesn't seem to give me this option...is it possible (8300 Curve by the way).

It really does.

In the sync configuration, YOU choose what to sync and if the device or Outlook over rules.

It will do the entire contact and not just the email address. You would want the name and other contact info, too.

Default Confused on the check box about replacing data

When you configure synchronization, there is a check box that says: Replace all data in the target application.

So, if I synch my calendar, One way, Device TO Outlook, what is the effect of checking that box? Thanks.

I have a question as well

My work Blackberry is set with the exchange server. I am getting calendar updates and I am receiving emails, but the problem is that my Blackberry is not syncing when I read my e-mail from the blackberry or outlook....so I am constantly deleting emails from my outlook even though I did open them or deleted them on my blackberry.

Is there anything I can set on my blackberry to fix this?

Are you telling to Blackberry to delete on Outlook AND Handheld, or just Handheld?

That's a good question, perhaps someone else knows. I didn't have to set that up, it seemed to be a default setting. When I read mail on BB, I can push menu and then delete, and the option window pops up to delete on both, or just handheld. However if you read the mail on outlook (on your PC), you can't get it to delete on the handheld, just the other way.

If thats the way its works its fine with me.

So does this work when I read the e-mail from my handheld, will the e-mail in my outlook still be NEW or it is going to show like i have read it.
