Seasons greetings to you all.
Thought I'd screwed my 8310 when I found it in the washing machine after a 30min quick wash. Either the Samsung machine isn't too good at washing or the good old BB is an amazing bit of kit.
With horror I took it out of w.machine still in holster and saw blue light on. Took battery out quickly and blasted away with hair dryer. Then read posts of what to do...
Saw red telltale that meant it had been in water - no surprise there! Then left on radiator over night. After again blasting with dryer put in tupperware type box with rice. After leaving for the day just tried the battery (too impatient to leave further). Apart from a few patches on screen it fired up - absolutely staggered!
I'm thinking after a few more blasts and leaving in rice box tonight I'm going to be up and Blackberrying again tomorrow.
These things are bullet proof - maybe I'll try that next!

Happy New Year all

Anyone else had this kind of experience? - actually to start the year off - what is the worst that's ever happened to a BB and it's survived?

Fell into a pool while on a call. Got it off the bottom of the pool and it was still on the call. So I finished the call and them dried it out.about a month later Phone was left on the roof of my car as I left my apartment. Fell off and was left in snow over night. Charged it up and it still worked. Crazy

Dang that's impressive.

I had a Samsung phone I left in the washing machine. Found it with the red light blinking (text message) and opened up the phone (stupid me) and then took the battery out immediate lol.

Let it dry for 4 days and after about 12 hours, my signal came back. It worked but I couldn't dial numbers and had a big puddle of water on the screen for about 3 weeks

Just last weekend I put my 7100i through my snowblower!

I didn't know it fell off my belt until the carry case, battery and battery cover came flying out of the chute! No Phone?

I found it lodged in the auger. Pulled it out, SIM card intact, screen intact, antenna ripped off, big cracks and missing pieces of the case, I thought what the heck, put the battery back in and it booted up. Couldn't do anything because the wheel was jammed. It worked well enough to transfer photos and other info off of it before I got my new 8350i.

Great replies - I was expecting a couple of similar experiences but then of course I forget, being in England, that there are crazy people out there that live where you need a 'snow blower' - I've watched Home Improvements so I suppose it could even be V8 powered!
Then you go and drop your phone into it! I'm beginning to think there's some good story here for someone living in Holywood...
Anyway - thanks for the smiles you've given me. Update on my drama is phone is working fine all but the camera - won't start! I can live with that...
