Default 7100t High Capacity Battery

Please Login to Remove!

FYI:

I finally found a "High Capacity" Battery for the 7100 series phones. This company sells both the original for 29.95 and the hi-cap for 99.95!

http://www.blackberrystuff.com/blackberry-7100t.htm

Anyone know if this battery is legit or if it's worth over 3x as much?

that does seem a bit steep
i don't have any problem with the standard battery (yet) but figure this is good info for down the road if necessary.
but at that price it may encourage me to keep my usage reasonable

"Holy overpriced accessory, Batman!" ;) I think I'll just keep my usage appropriate and plug into USB whenever I have a chance. I charge it every night. The worst I've worn it down in one day is to 35%. It was a LOT of usage too (mostly via bluetooth headset which I'm sure doesn't help battery life). I'd probably buy that battery if it was $40. Still pricey but I wouldn't feel like I was getting totally raped at $40-50.

I tried the "high capacity" battery that they sell and really don't see much additional talk time.

If you buy a "high capacity" battery and can still use the standard battery cover, then it ISN'T a high cap battery. Longer battery life (with current technology) requires a larger battery, thicker basically and WILL require a larger, modifiied battery cover. The original one with your 7100 will NOT fit.
www.shopblackberry.com wll be carrying the High Cap battery, but are currently waiting for the matching, larger battery cover to go with it. It will be sold in a combo pack, battery plus new cover, for the various models of the 7100.
ACC-07496-001 Extended battery with larger cover for 7100t or 7100r
ACC-07673-001 Extended battery with larger cover for 7100v
More in development.

Default Hicap battery

After some searching I found this:
bad link - removed

Looks like a higher capacity battery - because it is bigger - includes a larger battery cover.

I know I get only about two days out of a battery in a 7100g if I'm lucky.

We sell the 7100t ext battery and door http://store.bizshopr.com/rimacc-07496-001.html [the G version is not shipping yet]

We also have the 7290/7250 Extended battery and door http://store.bizshopr.com/rimacc-09125-002.html

These are of course OEM and instock for immediate delivery.

Short supply on the extended life battery for the standard BlackBerry form factor (7250 & 7290) but here are some OEM part numbers, each one includes the extended life battery:
ACC-09125-001 comes with larger battery door - Satin Blue
ACC-09125-002 comes with larger battery door - Cosmos Black
ACC-09125-003 comes with larger battery door - Steel Blue
These will work with the 7290 and 7250 series BlackBerries, you just need to know which color you want.
Note: if the "extended life" battery you are considering still allows you to use the OEM battery door, then it is NOT an extended life battery. Battery technology - must be bigger (thicker) to provide more power

What Tillia said!

Tillia you have the inside scoop... when is the "g" version door going to happen?

On the72xx front:
We have the Black (002) for the cingular 7290 and verizon 7250...
The steel blue (003) is for TMO 7290 and should be in by Friday.

No ETA... that goes to my question above to Tillia.

The batteries are here... just not the doors.

All of the extended life batteries are 1800mAh. The standard is 960mAh, correct? So we should get about double the talk and standby time?

Yes the extended is 1800mAh for the 7100.

It's 1525mAh for the 72xx.

No timeline on the larger battery door for the 7100g.......yet. I know it is in development and am pushing some people I know to give me some info. Things are happening fast and furious as I think RIM has realized the "gold mine" of Accessory sales. Very important to have all the right accessories available when you launch new products!

Thanks Tillia.

If RIM were really smart they would develop a usb or better yet Bluetooth keyboard driver... I get at least one email a day asking for an external keyboard.
