Default Does the 115200 limit make a difference on connection? how to make it higher?

Please Login to Remove!

I can tether and surf on the Internet with my tmo 8100 (thanks a bunch for the great instructions) and see that my connection speed it 115200. I was wondering if this puts a limit on my actual connection speed or is it just a "setting".

If it does indeed put a limit (and I could go higher if it wasn't there) does anybody know how to make it higher? I searched around but could not find how...

Thanks to all btw; I have been checking this forum for more than a month now (and got my BB about 10 days ago) and found -almost- all answers that I needed...

I believe that's actually the limit that Windows puts on a dial up connection. I also believe that the speed of EDGE is lower than that anyway, so you won't be restricted in your speed.

I'm am on BIS. That setting of 115200 is set in Windows Connection Manager. If you don't change that setting yourself it usually starts at 9600 but gives you the option to raise it to 115200. It has nothing at all to do with Blackberry, BES, or BIS. On the dial up screen, click Options instead of Dial and search for one minute. The setting will be in there.
