Can anyone say HTC?

This just looks like every windows mobile phone out there.

I like phones without moving parts.

Its whats inside that counts. WM is crap, BB OS is not. This design and an OS upgrade will allow RIM to compete with the iphone and the upcoming Android OS.

I was waiting for someone to make that distinction. The more different designs RIMM has the more new BB users will come to RIMM.

USPTO has really lowered their standards... This phone looks a heck of a lot like what is already available...

its definitely a good try. I mean I'm sure a lot of people would like that design, but me myself I wouldn't touch it. Those sliding phones are a bad idea IMO. They get dirt in the tracks and stop working or they break easily or worse....both. But yeah I personally like the current blackberrys.

The abstract does not necessarily identify what exact method or process is being patented. You would have to read through the whole patent application. You have to have a unique 'method' to patent.

And yes - the drawings are made intentionally vague.

I had one simple idea that turned into ten pages of description of methods from the lawyer
