Default Problem Disallowing BB Maps

Please Login to Remove!

Hey Everyone...

First of all love this BB forum. I try to browse it everyday... takes the edge off of actually doin work lol. But to my problem.

So i read that super long really concise directions post of pushing apps. And for the most part it's worked great.

But I have a Software policy where i'm trying to push google maps and disallow BB maps. Now when i first did it it would install google but not uninstall BB maps. I wasn't sure if it was cause I had downloaded the newest install files for BB maps so I downloaded a rev back too and added that to the disallow list. And still it's not pulling the app.

Any ideas?

It could take 4 hours for any change to happen. Have you tried resetting the device (remove battery and replace)?

You would need to make sure that you create a policy that has a disposition to disallow.
Then you need to make sure that hh software is installed on the BES and within that one software config make sure that the disallowed policy is on the bbmaps application. Then have the allowed policy on the app you want to push, and make sure that the delivery is set to wireless. This should disallow the bbmaps app and push down googlemaps.

See i'm pretty sure i have all of that. In my policy I do select all to wireless... and this one specifically to disallow. And my handhelds do get Google maps in about 4 hours... but maps never uninstalls.

Do I need to install an app from policy to be able to remove?

In my experience it doesnt work perfectly. Resetting the device or rebooting the server sometimes helps. Might be best to open a case with RIM.
