I think a number of people have found that if they go in an elevator or somewhere where they don't get service with their 8700g, that once they go back into a service area they don't receive e-mails unless they turn it off and on again. I have not yet heard of a fix.

Although that does happen to me once every 2 months or so (and i'll need to do a full hard reset of the BB to get it to function again), I don't have problem when going in and out of service areas. I drove x-country, dropping in and out of service and I'd get my emails if I had any every time I'd hit an area that provided GPRS coverage.

And to add to the list of "nuisances", the middle of the battery cover is taller than the rest of the back of the phone. And thus, it gathers scratches right along that ridge. But I guess its better than scratching the rest of the case, since battery doors are cheap. The other nuisance is how the edges of the case rise up to meet the keyboard, making it hard to hit the Q, A, P, and Del buttons. I tried my dad's 8700c, which is completely flat relative to the keypad, and its much easier to type on. But then again, dark blue is much better than silver.

Default SMS Broadcast is not working on 8700g

Anybody here using SMS broadcast? I just changed to 8700g but SMS Broadcast is not sending out SMS. It works fine on 7230, 7290 and 7100 but not on 8700.

Any ideas please?

most of the problems can be fixed easily.. i put a post it note or two behind my battery case and its solid.. i cant seem to find a case im happy with either.. and expandable memory would be great.. but we cant have everything. im glad i have this phone without memory instead of a q or treo that resets all the time.

no bluetooth data transfer
no free aim client that is decent for any real im user (i guess that applies to all bb's)
no expandable mem card
limited multimedia

I've read the argument on the site to "no need for mp3s and video" etc... and I agree when you're dealing with most of "corporate" america and gov't jobs etc... but there ARE those of us that actually need those things for WORK, and it would be nice to have them on fone just like some of you like spreadsheets.
