Default Volume Display (9700, OS 5.0.0.979)

Please Login to Remove!

When I adjust the volume of a video or podcast, either while using headphones or external speaker, there's a substantial delay until the volume meter is displayed (although actual volume adjustment works a little quicker, but not fast enough).

Anyone else experience this problem or know of a fix?

Could be that's just the way it is, but have you looked at what third-party apps you have running that would be competing for resources. Pay attention to apps that are sent to background when exited instead of really closing. Wouldn't hurt to try a battery pull and see if it makes any difference.

What was it about my post which led you to believe I was a BlackBerry beginner?

Didn't assume anything.....I didn't know one way or another, and until someone could come along who might confirm your observation I was suggesting some typical things to look at. Did it help?

No, I've been using Blackberries for almost two years so naturally I've checked for resource-hogging third party apps. The problems appears to be specific to the new software for the 9700 (979) which was only released in early November.

No reason to feel insulted. Readers only know what you post. You didn't say in your first post what you had tried or already looked at. Plus as it was your first post there's no reason for anyone to assume anything about you.

Maybe someone will come along with same model and OS and say whether they see same thing or not.

Yes, I would like comments relevant to this model and OS, which is why I went to the trouble of posting the precise OS number.

Wow. I'm sorry I went to the bother of trying to be helpful. Good luck with that chip on your shoulder.

@arron.fitzgerald

[edited] Its obviously a software issue. Why hav'nt you downgraded the OS, you being a proficient user and all..... ? Go back to your previous version and all will be well. Live with it. [edited] Alharkness was only trying to help. Get a grip.

What a ridiculous, irrelevant, and downright juvenile response.

I was under the impression that the users of these forums would be reliably mature and professional; clearly I was mistaken.

I don't condone AdyT's use of foul language, but yea, he is spot on in regard to your attitude here towards to those attempting to help you.

Why don't you man up and apologize to those you've insulted, and we'll deal with AdyT's post.

eh?

I'm sorry are you a moderator? If so, why are you using terms such as 'man up' and 'yea'? These are unprofessional terms for someone writing in an official capacity.

Moreover, I dispute the claim that I 'insulted' anyone; could you direct me to a specific insult?

lol, now you want to define how I should speak?

You can dispute whatever you like. Your opinion doesn't matter. If you feel you didn't insult anyone then three other users (myself included) are obviously all wrong. But we're not.

Either apologize for the insults or take your deeply experienced attitude elsewhere.

aiharkness was attempting to help you. He's quite accomplished at doing so, quite friendly and accommodating. I've seen him ignore lots of things from users, but apparently you're not one he will accommodate. Wonder why is that.

What kind of forum is this? The moderators are more offensive than the reported offenders.

It's beyond my comprehension how someone can come into the forum, ask a question that they need help with, and then be rude to the very people who go out of their way to help them. We're not customer service for Blackberry. Just a group of BB users who help and support other BB users. Unbelievable!
