Can you turn off the home screen dialing on the 8100? I do not use the phone and would like to use "m" to open messages like the 8700....can it be done I did not see the option in menus.

Also is a MMS part of the data plan or does it get charged as a text message? I think SMS is a text charge...are they the same.

I just read in another post that you can't disable the phone option as it was implemented especially for the 7100 and 8100 type since they were made to resemble phones.

Second question.......I really am not sure, but MMS looks to be alongside SMS and I know SMS is extra.

MMS messages do require that you have the data plan, but they are charged extra. I think T-Mobile charges 25 cents per message.
