Default Will other carriers come out with 98xx models?

I am not sure if we have to wait on success or failure of the 9800. However, will other carriers release this model to their subscribers?

I sure hope so... I may just buy the 9800 once it's out because I'm not in the US much anymore to worry about the 3G band difference with my US provider.

I bet it will default to lower than 3G speeds on any network that is not released on. Just like my Storm 2 on Rogers.

My big concern with 9800 is whether or not it will be a "trick of all trades", "master of none". Other carriers may be able to get improved versions of it so I am okay with my carrier not having it until the device has proven itself.

According to some rumors, Austria's A1 will peddle it.

Unless they are trying to drive customers away they would make it available to other carriers in other countries.

I believe akosnitzky was referring to other providers in the United States. We can be fairly sure it will be released in other countries.

I would like to think other carriers would get it of course the 9800 AT&T could be like the Storm for VZW, so maybe not.

Time will tell.

Since the 9800 was a joint RIM and AT&T development. I highly doubt any other US carrier will get it.

On T-Mobile, but went to an att store and checked out the 9800 for about 30 minutes. It didnt give me all that great an impression overall. Left the store a little disappointed about the device actually. Don't care much if T-Mobile gets the 9800 after trying it out. I will just wait and see what T-Mobile will have next May/June when my contract is up. I am hoping they have a 9700 type device with a touch screen/keyboard combo by then.
