I just bought the HS810 and mated it with my new 7290. Like it so far but is there any way on either device to turn off sound (from the headphone) when I am punching in the number digitals AND hitting the end button. It's OBNOXIOUS! I don't need my ear drums burned out from hearing the keys pressed. I find the disconnect sound particulalry loud and unpleasant. Looked in the phone options but couldn't find a way to do it.

Even a free phone usually allows you to turn this off so hopefully I'm missing a setting.

I just got a Bluetrek G2 and am using it with my 7290. I only got it yesterday, so I haven't used it that much, but so far it works great.

I have the HS810 but it doesn't cut the bg noise as much as I thought it would. I find the 7100t to be very loud in general - meaning it picks up a lot of background noise. When I'm in the car people won't even talk to me, they say the bg noise is bad or it sounds like my windows are down. My car's a Honda Prelude - so it's not a luxury car with a sealed cabin but it's not a junker, either... anyone else have this problem? I have the latest software for the phone 3.8.0.128 (I guess tmo is still testing 4.0)

A couple people said there is a bad echo when I am talking to them on the HS810, too. Not sure what the cause of that is and it seems to be random. I have heard the plantronics M3500 has built in noise reduction and I kinda want to try it... has anyone used the 3500? does it work well with the 7100t and is it good for noise reduction?

I have been using the BT250 for three months and it keeps crashing the 7290. I called Jabra and they told me that several users have reported this problem and which is why they donot include the 7290 among the compatible devices.

I am planning to buy either the HBH660 or the Motorola 850. Can you anyone confirm whether the caller ID feature on the HBH660 works with the 7290?

Any other ideas between the two which one would choose and why?

I'm also very interested in opinions of the BT250 paired with a 7290. I was positive that I would pick up a BT250 after I got my 7290, but with all the issues reported of the 7290 and BT200, I am a little hesitant. I might just wait till the BT800 comes out.

I got one with a couple of rebates it was around $30. Great for the price. Does everything I want. Volume is far and away better than holding the phone up to your ear. And it weighs pretty much nothing. After a while I forget its there (until someone looks at me funny...) :P

I bought a BT250 for my wife for her 7290 and it works flawlessly. We bought it to replace the Plantronics M2500 that came with the 7290.

The Plantronics was a little too big for her ear. It kept falling off. The BT250 is a much much better fit. The audio performance is also much better. She doesn't sound like she's in a drum when she is using it.

I have yet to have somebody tell me that they could tell I am on a headset...I have been using my HS810 for a shade over a week with no problems at all, no echo and I don't hear the tones in my ear untill the unit boots up...that must vary from device to device.

Hi there,

Quick note: The 7100t I've got (running 3.8.0.128) has persistent problems with the Jabra BT250. Bizarre stuff, like ringing in the headset but the phone call gets answered on the handset, crashing the handset, and really bad interference, among other things.

Regardless, as of mid-Jan 05 Blackberry says these issues should be fixed in the next maintenance release of 3.8 OR the T-Mo release of 4.0 (Which is apparently stuck in acceptance testing limbo).

Jabra, however, really ticked me off when my 3-6-month-old BT250 cracked from the power button through the LED to the flexible rubber area. Their response was "well, do you have a receipt?" to which I replied "probably, somewhere.... I think I got it on Amazon...". They then speculated that if I could find the receipt I could ship the 250 to them and after a week or so they'd ship a replacement. Apparently the idea of coss-shipping hasn't made it across the Atlantic yet.

I'm too old to waste time with companies this clueless. Any suggestions for a Jabra replacement that I can wear 12-14 hours a day? Maybe one that works well with the 7100t on 3.8?

The BT250 works great.

The only problem my wife has with it is that it easily falls out of the holster. Whether it is on her belt or on her bag, it falls out without her realizing it. The first time was on parking lot just outside her car in the snow. She was lucky noone picked it up. The 2nd time as in our garage. I called her to let her know I found it.

We're afraid she's really going to lose it and and not find it one of these days.

Just for the record, I should make sure everyone knows that my experience with the BT250 is not universal. My research indicates that I'm one of the unlucky folks who have 7100t/BT250 problems. To my knowledge, no-one is sure if the problem is a BT250 thing, a 7100t thing, or simply the combination. Also for the record, when my BT setup works, it usually works well.

My gripe is (primarily) with Jabra for their CS - these things shouldn't be cracking under ordinary use by adults, nor should Jabra assume I'm trying to defraud them.

I have mixed feelings about the 7100t and HBH-660 from Sony Ericsson. In general works well with great sound and good battery life. I would have been very happy if I wasn't facing the problem of occasionally having the BT with no sound although it has paired normally and had it work fine for a few calls. Turning the BT on and off or trying to disable BT from the 7100t causes the 7100t to crash.

I am wondering if I have a faulty BT headset or there is a problem with my 7100t. Anybody else experience similar problems.

This is consistent with my BT250 / 7100t experience. The Bluetooth stack crashes are fairly repeatable - Trying to re-establish a headset connection through the jog-dial menu while on a call (usually to VM during testing) usually results in a system crash.

Various ad-hoc attempts to gracefully reset the stack by cycling the handset's BT stack and the headset's power up/down have yet to prove productive.

Additionally, things can work well for days before flaking out.

Just got my BT250 and it works perfectly on my 7290. The answer/end button works great...it paired with the phone very fast and the quality of sound is awesome. Got it from our friends at Smart Phone Depot. :D I'll post more details after some use...plan on using it a lot at work tomorrow and some driving.

Has anyone else used the Plantronics M2500? I have a regular Plantronics earpiece and it has been great. How's the sound quality on the M2500? Do the people you talk to complain when you use it?

Well I got my scala 500 in the mail on wed charged it up put it into use today! So far I love this thing man. Works Flawless. Best part is it works with Nextel DC. Sound is the greatest very light weight, fits comfortably on my Fat head. Have worn on the job site all day and forgot its there. So far no issue for me at all was easy to pair up.

You've tried the Jabra BT250 and the Motorola 820? I have the BT200 and want to know is the 820 really all that? The Jabra is SO comfortable and the Motorola looks "bobbly" like i'd feel it wiggle while i walked. Whats the difference?
