Default BT Headsets - where do you keep yours?

Please Login to Remove!

Just bought an MT HS850 from Cingular and it didn;t come with the case - wondered where you all keep yours so you don;t forget it (while it is not on, of course) since it is $99 - would hate to lose the little sucker. Do you just throw it in your pocket, keep in your car...

Anyone with the included case care to let me know if I should take this back and get the non-Cingular one that comes with the case and strap?

Thanks!

Keep it in my car but everyonce in a while i keep it in my pocket. Mine has an area that a strap could be attached to, but since BT headsets are so rare you already look wierd and attract extra attention to yourself just by having it on. I certainly dont want to add to the looks by having a strap hang from my ear.

The wrap-around design of the BT250 makes it convenient to "hang" it in the button-up area of my golf shirt. If wearing a dress shirt, I keep it in the shirt pocket.

I've used a Jabra BT200 for the past couple of years, and most of the time I used to simply leave it on my ear... It looks a bit geeky, but not nearly as bad as many of the alternatives, and I found it actually quite comfortable to wear.

I would generally take it off in situations where it was inappropriate to keep it on (meetings, in restaurants, etc), in which case I would just put it in my pocket.

On the other hand, I upgraded to a Motorola HS810 just a couple of days ago, and it comes with a lanyard and a belt pouch. There's no way I'm going to walk around with that one on constantly (see "geeky" above... ), but I find that the belt pouch works quite well. I'm not sure I'd use the lanyard much, but it might be useful in some situations.

In fact, one of the reasons I bought the HS810 was for the flip-on/off capability... That one feature makes it one of the most convenient headsets to use if you're not going to regularly wear it.

It stays in my truck, unless I'm using it at home. I rarely use my personal BB for calls at work.

Haven't used it under my motorcycle helmet. But, I guess I'll go be a dweeb and try it someday!

I wear the belt pouch for my HS850 and it works well for the most part. It's easy to get in and out and holds it pretty securely. Recently though I've found that the headset can pop out when the case is tugged on a certain way. I actually lost my headset for a few days because of it. Now I am more carefull and check to make sure it's there all the time. I'm thinking about using the lanyard but I'd need some kind of quick disconnect for it bacause I don't want that around my neck while the headset is on my ear.

I'm sticking with the pouch for now but looking at alternative options. When I don't have the pouch I just keep it in my pocket.

I have a Jabra BT 200 and I keep it on my ear but I also carry the wired BB headset in my pocket in case my BT 200 batteries run low.

Talking Whew!

Just hoping for help. OK, I admit, I am DESPERATLY begging for help. I am a neophyte Blackberry user with a 7290 and a Motorola HS850, both less than 3 days old. I cannot get the Bluetooth connection to work. I follow the instructions, but the phone does not seem to recognize the earpiece and merely tells me that it has found no device and asks me if I want it to search again. Any suggestions? It is frustrating, because I am having a hell of a time adjusting to using the BB vs my old combo of a trusty Motorola flip phone & a Palm....seems like I cannot hear very well although volume is full boar and it just doesn't "feel" right yet. ANy troubleshooting suggestions that can be provided would be most welcome. I will be spending my Friday night reading the boards and hopefully learning to love my Blackberry, which did not have me at hello.

Post Script: A very nice guy at "HELLO MOTO" talked me through the set up and I was able to have it up and running in minutes. My problem was not having a solid blue light while trying to have the BB recognize the headset.
