Default Cingular or TMobile to offer 7130g soon??

Please Login to Remove!

Just saw coverage of the new 7130g being launched by O2 in Europe. It looks fantastic---Intel processor like 8700, EDGE, and light sensing LCD screen. Any ideas when this will hit the US? My guess is Cingular first and TMob 3-6 months later. Would Cingular launch 7130g after they upgrade their BB servers in June/July?

I'm really wanting the 7130g for T-Mobile to come out and I mean like now. My 7100t has some issues and is slow so i'm looking forward to the new processor and memory upgrades, as well as the mp3 ringtones - I miss those.

Anybody have a 'when' date for TMO?

Geting mine tomorrow from Cingular-I can't wait. I previewed the device my Cingular data guy had and it looked phenomenal.

The only thing I am averse to is the keyboard, but if all the features operate as advertised, it may make up for it.

Default NO 7130G for T-Mobile

T-Mobile is passing on the 7130G and will be getting the new release of device in December or early January. I don't know what the device is called but it is suppose to be there lastest and greates. T-Mobile will have rights to the device first in the US.

I work with T-Moible on a regular basis and they said that they are passing on the 7130 device. I could be wrong but I don't think so. I like the 7130 but they do thave the 7105T device why would they go with the 7130.

PhoneScoop reports that T-mobile is tentatively going to carry the 7130. You ask the question, "why would they go with the 7130" over the 7105t? Faster processor, double the memory, bluetooth 2.0, EDGE data speeds, MP3 ringers, and better screen back-lighting. That's way more of an upgrade from the 7100t to 7105t.

Wirelessly posted (penkberry: BlackBerry7100/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

What he said.

And given Cingular's aggressive new pricing, T-Mo can't afford to dally with an extended gap, like we experienced with the 8700g releases.

(Nor can they afford a mine gap!)

my 7105t wont even run the Zen theme without constantly getting loading screens. the processor is outdated, the intel must be way better.

T-Mobile will release the 7130g as a stop-gap. The 7130g is a generic device, thus requiring minimal testing by T-Mobile.

It means that there is no carrier customization such as themes or special exterior housings. With newer BlackBerry devices, the letter following the series number will indicate to you whether there is some customization, or something special about the device.

v = Vodafone
c = Cingular
t = T-Mobile
r = Rogers
i = for iDEN networks
e = for EVDO networks
u = for UMTS networks
g = generic GSM device

A generic device? Please explain to me the internal differences between an 8700c "cingular" and an 8700g "generic"...

And the 8707v, a UMTS device in Europe/Asia, is UMTS. And what's a 7100x?

Whoever gets the exclusive for the device gets first pick on the suffix. T-Mobile had an exclusive on the 7100 in the US. Theirs is the 7100t. Cingular had the exclusive for the 8700; it's an 8700c. What is this "generic" stuff? The devices are identical. My 8700g has a T-Mobile case on it with T-Mobile themes.

What I was posting was a pattern, not set rules.

Anyway, your 8700g has T-Mobile label on it, just like my 7130e has a Sprint logo on it. But aside from that, the startup screen, and the box it came it, the your 8700g is exactly like anyone elses. An 8700c, on the other hand, whilst identical as far as internals go, has a very different exterior from the 8700g.

Hmm - guess I'm not that observant. I had an 8700c. Not sure how different it really was. So when my 8700g powers up and displays T-Mobile that is a generic BlackBerry.

I totally disagree with your statements.

And, it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things
