Default Desktop Manager sync with Outlook resulting in weird due dates for tasks

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all,

I have a BB Curve 8330 with VZW; I am running version 4.3 of the BlackBerry OS.

I use the Desktop Manager to sync my BB with Microsoft Outlook 2003, and I am noticing something strange when my tasks sync. A few tasks, which have no due date in Outlook, come out with a weird due date waaay in the future, e.g. 4/17/2038.

I have tried changing the due date back in Outlook and syncing again, but the same thing happens; also, unfortunately, it's not always the same tasks that get this weird future date -- I have to just go look in Outlook after the sync, see which tasks got this date, and set them back.

Does anyone know what would be causing this future due date, and what, if anything, can be done to prevent it?

Thanks,
Andy Burdick

Default Same problem Outlook tasks sync with wierd dates

I have the same problem. When I sync with my outlook tasks have extreem dates: 2032.

I have
- Verizon
- Blackberry pearl 8130
- MS Windows XP SP2 with USB interface for the Pearl.
- Blackberry Desktop Manager Version 4.7.0.32
- 300 Outlook tasks, with 50 wierd due dates and 40 ok dates.

I found that when I see the extreemly wierd dates, there is even more problems. Here's the odd sequence:
1) in MS Outlook tasks change wierd date to "none".
2) sync with outlook.
3) MS Outlook task and Blackberry shows "none". Do NO CHANGES.
4) sync with outlook again
5) MS Outlook task now shows the wierd date!!!

I had to change the date on the BB Pearl to get rid of the problem.

Default better "fix" for task date sync problem in other thread

If my original searching was better I would have noticed the fix mentioned in a different BlackBerry Forums thread, "intellisync puts garbage in my task due dates" see DavidPayne's solution:

It recommends changing the sync field list for tasks to eliminate an unsupported field (start date). It worked for me. A permanent fix by RIM in intellisync is still needed.

Default

I noticed if you keep snoozing a task a re-occuring task after you mark it as complete the next re-occurence does not have a reminder.

Correct me if I am wrong.
