the more 3rd party app you installed and activate the faster it drains ur bb juice out.. ..That's why i always keep my Javelin simple and nice..

Have also found that keeping multiple apps open drains the battery quickly. Especially those that continually poll location services (GPS or mapping).

Try closing un-used apps, and you'll be surprised at how battery life improves

In short, everything that is on uses electricity. Close all that you can. Some applications cannot be closed. If you want to close (almost) all applications, turn off the whole device. In between, there are other options like stand by, etc.

Blackberry are never known for their battery backup so keep them only for emails

I had this problem last week. A battery pull resolved the issue and battery is draining at a normal rate.

I have found some apps that use GPS fire up the GPS when they're running but the GPS fails to power down when it can. Not sure if this is an OS issue or not. Anyway, turning off the GPS manually when you don't need it (in Options | Advanced | GPS | GPS Services) helps in my case.

My money's on taksjot, whatever that is. BB Messenger can't do it because it's basically a text message app using a different server. It's always running. I never heard of taksjot so I bet it's running a radio and draining the battery. Go to Options/Advanced/Applications and delete the sucker and see what happens.

Also make sure you turn off WiFi and Bluetooth if you are not using those and change your screen brightness. I have my brightness set on 10 and I can see the screen just fine.

Streaming apps or online log-ins will burn your charge. Remember to close your browser and unused apps...

Hopefuly you've resolved this problem by now but I wanted to mention: I've had my BB 8900 for a couple months now. I had this same problem several days after activating my phone and installing some apps. I discontined the use of my BB, turned it off and placed it on the charger for a full 24 hours. Has been working fine ever since. Not sure if this is the same issue, or problem but it worked for me so thought i'd share.
