Here is my scenario, We have two users in our BES environment that have the same name and we changed the AD display names to i.e. Jane Doe (Ottawa) and Jane Doe (Vancouver)
When we registered both of these users on the BES, the Display name appears correctly when BES does a search in AD. All is good for now but here is the catch. While trying to compose an email from the BB, you try to do a lookup for Doe and both users come up the search with only Jane Doe.

Anybody have an idea on how to correct this situation?

The lookup doesn't use the Display Name entry. It uses the full name from the AD account properties (Last name, First name) to build the display you get. I pretty sure BES is using LDAP search to connect and perform the lookup for the BB and then using the sn and givenName fields to build what it shows to the user.

If you had a user in AD/Exchange that was:

Display Name (LDAP displayName): SillyThingWork, WhyDoesntThis
First Name (LDAP givenName): User
Last Name (LDAP sn): FooBar

It would show up under BES lookup as: FooBar, User
It would show up under Outlook/GAL as: SillyThingWork, WhyDoesntThis

I would suggest adding the location for each user in parenthesis to the end of their first name entry in AD.

I have many duplicates and thatxxx8217;s exactly what I do, add an identifier to the name, usually the last name
