Default Powering on takes a long time (phone start up)

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone else's Tour take an extremely long time to turn on?

With my 8830, it will take 30-60 seconds from the time I press the power button until it's verifying the security software. With the Tour, it literally takes 3-4 minutes from the time I press the power button until it's verifying the security software.

Is this a known problem with the Tours that others are also experiencing?

Totally normal. All BlackBerry devices take several minutes to power up from a cold start.
The Bold was the fastest I've seen, and even that was several minutes.

There's no way on earth that your 8830 booted up that fast. My guess is that it wasn't really powered off, but rather in standby mode.

Pulled the battery out of the 8830 and let it reboot. Took 52 seconds just now.

Still timing the 9630....

You have a magical 8830.
Never saw anything like that.

Can you use the Tour to take a video of it?

Hmmm... well I'll be a monkey's testicle.
My 8830 just booted up in about 90 seconds.

Never saw a BB boot that fast before. I might dump the Tour and go back to this thing.

It seems to start from "off" very quickly, but a reboot does take a long time. I think a little longer than my curve did.

That's a pretty normal boot up time for the Tour. It would be longer if you had content encryption enabled. Mine takes a little more than 5 minutes. The Storm boot up is about 25 seconds quicker and the Bold, 88xx, and 87xx boot ups more so. These are from battery pulls, not power offs.

I tried to time my Tour boot up from a battery pull, but I gave up after 7 minutes and went to the bathroom and got some more coffee.

I have content encryption enabled, but the 8330 and 8830 were MUCH faster.

Wirelessly posted (My name is Bubbles)

My Bold takes about 4 min. My curve was alittle faster but had less apps and my pearl is the fastest at just over a min.

You pulled the battery out... then put it back in... and you had a functioning device in 26.5 seconds?
