Question AIM for 8310?

Please Login to Remove!

I was just wondering If I can get aim on my 8310. Will it just charge me a text every message sent? Do I have to download it on my phone or can I use my computer? thanks!

If you download and install the OZ application, it uses SMS/text messages.

You can download it on your BlackBerry at mobile.blackberry.com

There are better applications which use data rather than SMS, if you are interested.

Once you are on the blackberry mobile site, look for applications, etc., and one that is for AIM, of course.

I didn't find it. I saw Yahoo!, Google Talk and something else, but no AIM. It said my device wasn't supported for AIM. I'm running 4.5, would that make a difference?

You can not use AIM as an AT&T subscriber. You need to usae other applications. If you are on unlimited data there are a couple of free IM apps such as bing and instango.
Other might chime in and say big uses SMS, that is not true. Bing uses data.

It doesn't really matter. I don't really use AIM much anyways. And it wouldn't matter if the app. used sms or data, I have unlimited both.

I am also unlimited data and sms, what app will allow me to use YM and aim? I am currently using the 30 day free trial of Jivetalk and I really do not want to pay more out of pocket for IM's. I would prefer something free, college tuition is breaking me as it is.

Thanks

i know you said that you dont want to pay for IM, but JiveTalk is very worth the price. Ive been using it for almost a year now, since they started the beta. Its actively developed, the tech support is great, and its much nicer than any other client for the bberry. for the price of a dinner, you have lifetime ownership and free support.

From JiveTalk's site:

The User License is for use on one BlackBerry device at a time but can be transferred to other devices for free. Bring your license with you as you change BlackBerry models. Free software upgrades are included.

I have no problem paying a one time fee, it is the montly fee I prefer not to.

I am more of an avid yahoo user over aim or aol, as I only use aol to read mail these days.

I have jivetalk on my BB but I was only capable of finding the aol client, does jivetalk offer yahoo messenger? I also have webmaster which Dragoro mentioned and that has all the messenger clients and then some that I use.

Thanks

Don't you have unlimited data with at&t?? Jivetalk's definitely the way to go IMO.
