Default Automatic Bluetooth Sync

Please Login to Remove!

Ok I know I read about someone having his blackberry automatically sync as soon as he came into range with his computer. I have finally gotten my blackberry to sync with my computer via bluetooth. Now my question is how do you get it to do it automatically? What about the fact that I need to enter my handheld password when it connects to the desktop manage? Is there a way to totally automate this process? I would like it to sync once a day. I would love to have it able to syn wirelessly over the air, but that is only for bis clients? am I correct? I am a single user on cingular using bis. Anyhelp is appreciated. I did search but could not find the answer to these questions. Thank you in advance. By the way I have an 8700.

Inside desktop manager, in the intellisynch section there is an option for auto start, select it and then choose synch that will do it.

Any luck with having the sync via Bluetooth connect and sync when you get in range? I have the bluetooth connection set up, but still have to force the connection to turn on and off...

My BB automatically syncs to my desktop within range but there's two things it won't do:

1. If my BT headset is connected to my BB, it won't automatically start until I drop the connection to my headset.

2. I backup my BB everyday and once the BT connection is made to the desktop, I have to click OK to start the backup and then OK to accept where it's putting the backup. I wish it would just automatically start it and place it in the right network folder.

I can get mine to auto sync. The only thing is that you have to accept/approve sync issues everytime. So I still have to be around my laptop to click okay for it to go ahead and pick which device wins BB or outlook.

Is there any way to sync wirelessly, with bluetooth perhaps, using the Verizon 7250? Thanks.

Default auto sync

Hi all, just found this thread, I think allot of it has been answered, but this is my experience.

1. Turned off blackberry password. I have set-up my blackberry with no password, I found that with a password enabled, it keeped asking for the password on my windows box. This does make it insecure but the auto sync out weights the security issues.

2. Enabled auto sync on desktop manager and disabled "Confirm record changes and additions" in calender advanced options. This means that I get no confirmation dialogue when it is adding new items to the blackberry. Again a bit of a risk. I did not disable "Confirm record deletions". I felt that was going a bit far.

3. Change auto backup to every 3 days, instead of every 1 day. This gives me 3 days of auto sync without user intervention.

4. Keep bluetooth active all the time. I know, a bad idea but again auto sync is cool.

This does assume that you have 4.1 desktop manager and 4.1 of the device firmware (4.1 7290 in my case)

What I have now:

When I get a new meeting in my outlook calendar, the next time I go away from my desk and return my blackberry picks up the meeting and places it into the calender without me having to do a anything. Also when I com in first thing in the morning, my blackberry auto syncs.

The down side is that I have to go away from my desk (about 60 foot) for it to auto re-sync. Or I just press teh re-sync button. No having to mess with cables.
