Default master reset

Please Login to Remove!

how do you master reset everything on the 8700c.

If someone already register with BIS and cingular and sells it (on ebay)
... can you do a reset and does it still work with a new account?

Thanks.

Wirelessly posted (7130e: BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/104)

You have to have the previous owner release the account. Once this is done you can then register the 88

There are two issues here.

- To wipe the handheld of settings and data, go to Options > Security > Wipe Handheld.

- Cingular can delete the user association with the handheld, but it's not easy. You should have the original owner call Cingular and remove the PIN association.

I had this same problem and before I wiped my unit and reimported and reinstalled anything I checked my third party apps. I recently installed Countdown Timer, a free app by someone right here on these boards. It's just a simple countdown timer like the name suggests, but if you change the time in the counter from the default 100 seconds (like I imagine everyone does) it uses Multi-tap input by default. Seems it changes the settings for all apps and disables SureType, giving the error message described in this thread. To solve it I opened Countdown Timer and used the scroll wheel to change the setting, selecting "Enable SureType". My 7105t is back to normal and SureType is working perfectly.
