As an example, I enter a contact's zip code into the zip code field. I enter the contact's first and last names in their respective fields. Later I view the contact, and the contact person's last name and zip code have migrated into the first name field, like this: RobertSmith76301. Anyone experiencing this, or have any idea what I could be doing wrong? Thanks.

Thanks. I didn't intend to post twice; it happened that the first post didn't show. That is until I posted again Maybe I didn't refresh. Yes, I've done battery pulls. My 8330 seems healthy. I'm continuing to observe the problem, and think it possibly connected to whether I press [Enter] to get to the next contact field, or trackball to the next field. Thanks for deleting the double post; I'm still learning BlackBerry Internet navigation and didn't see readily how to delete it.

Even if you are pressing Enter to go to a different field, I don't see why that would happen. Weird.

Does it happen to all your contacts or just some?

Seems weird to me, as well. No, not all Contacts are affected. I've also been puzzled by the title field. Several of my contacts are doctors. For these I enter "Dr" in the title field. (Useful for sorting.) Weird that sometimes the title would stick, and, as often, it would disappear. Dutifully, I'd enter "Dr" again. And it might stick, and it might disappear. As a workaround I took to putting the title together with the first name:
Title:
First: Dr. Bob
Last: Smith
Truly I love the BlackBerry. The Contacts glitch I can live with. What's really eating me is "trackball paranoia." So far, so good. But a trackball problem I wouldn't want. (I had a 30-day window during which to purchase a warranty plan, and didn't meet the deadline.)

Could this be an issue with syncing your contacts with another program? Gmail, Outlook? If so, I think there is a way to map fields so that they go to the right place.

Hello SoccerRef, Syncing is a great guess, but in my case I don't have the PC for that. Haven't even tried it, because BB says Windows XP or better is required and I only have Windows 98 for now (I know, that's old and I'll be getting something better soon.) Meanwhile, the contacts fields have been behaving. Maybe whatever was bugging my 8330 has washed out by recent battery pulls. Thanks ~Jay

SoccerRef, Hang on. I'm seeing what maybe you mean. You're probably spot on. I have gmail on the 8330. Maybe what you're suggesting is happening. I'll have to think on this.
