Default Irc Client - free?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for an IRC client for my 8700 - potentially free one?
I've searched but all of them seem complicated to install.. am i missing something?

Thanks -

jmIRC is a great IRC application for the Blackberry

Just point your blackberry's browser to http://jmirc.sourceforge.net/jmIrc.jad

Can't get much easier than that

Is there a client that doesn't need a separate window opened for each line you want to write?

No. JMIRC is open source -- feel free to modify it to meet your needs.. and release the program for everyone to benefit.

No Blackberry IRC programs have an integrated text-entry window. Why not e-mail the developer and ask for it? Surely the more that ask the better our chances.

JMIrc is the best IRC app we got, and all things considered, it does work..!

Default jmirc user name length??

regarding jmirc.. does anybody know, why does the ap limit the length of the user field. I'm trying to log into an irc server that authenticates, and my user name is longer than jmirc will allow so i get an error.

Otherwise jmirc is a great very reliable product

Not that I know of. I'm a heavy IRC user and I think this is a limitation of J2ME. I'd seriously pay $50 for an IRC app that was built specifically for Blackberries (provided it was stable, etc -- I'm talking JiveTalk-like quality).
