Default 8700 powering off and back on every few minutes??!!

Please Login to Remove!

My blackberry 8700 is shutting on and off by itself every few minutes. This has just begun within the last few days. Sitting by itself, the device cuts off then comes back on every few minutes. Does anyone have a clue what to do about this problem?

Gives a little more detail into your problem. Have you recently updated your OS, added an application, theme, etc.? Also how are you with memory right now? Do you keep all messages, calendar entries, etc? You might be low on memory.

Also pull your battery, wait 20 - 30 seconds, plug the battery back in and see if the issue continues.

I wonder if it's the auto light or an over sensitive roll knob. He did not indicate it was rebooting so maybe he sees the light and thinks it's shutting off and on.
I have seen my BB light turn on from vibration when sitting on the desk.

Or maybe he has a ghost using it!!!!

I had problem that was similar. I traced it to battery. It would be at 90% then drop to 20% and shut off. Then phone would restart and battery at 85%.

Made no sense at all. Bought a $9.00 OEM battery on Ebay and works normal again.
