I was just wondering if anyone has had their phone hacked into or is this even possible? I only ask because I keep some passwords and stuff on my phone. If it's possible for someone to get this info with some program then I'll take the stuff off. Thanks in advance on any help with this issue.

If the unlock password is entered incorrectly 10 times, the device deletes everything on it. Also remember that these were designed for corporate America and government. They're probably the most secure phone type device out there.

If you have set it to lock with password enabled then you dont need to worry about anything.

If you lose your phone or someone is snooping if they enter the password incorrectly a certain number of times all the stuff on your phone will get deleted. Also yo should see and icon for "password keeper" thats a designated area for passwords and such

If you want crazy security turn on data encryption for content, that way if someone were to take out the flash memory out of your device they couldn't steal the info

I had my phone hacked. This kid on the subway told me to turn on my bluetooth , then five minute later, my whole phone froze and then the screen went black but my back light was on. I went to TMO , they could not fix it, by i got a new pearl.

This raises an interesting question...can you pair a BT device with another device without someone's knowledge? I would think you can (i am woefully outside my area of expertise here)...but not sure. Here is a scenario that I experienced. I was standing on a street corner in downtown Denver, my headset was acting funny, so I re-paired it with my device. To my surprise, it showed 3 other devices (not mine) that I could pair with. Some of these appeared to be other headsets, but 1 looked like a phone. Possible?

If you are using BT then you should be the one discovering and connecting to other devices when you require to connect to another. Being discoverable is cause for concern for any BT Device. Disable the option that allows for being Discoverable.

As for Keeping Passwords, you should be using the Password Keeper application that cones with your Device Firmware. Some Carriers do not have this ticked by default for installation, this has its own password that can be set. This also a RIM Application and not a Third Party App so it is quite safe to use.

Thanks for all the replies. I use the password keeper on the phone plus I keep the phone password locked. I heard about the bluetooth thing that's why I keep it off. Doesn't bluetooth need to use a password if being paired with a device? I just use a regular head set when driving.

That's not being "hacked", but be thankful that your phone froze before you ended up being this kid's modem while he surfed for porn or what have you.

Bluetooth won't let someone else pair with your phone even if they discover it. If someone tries to connect to your phone via BT, you will be prompted to provide a pairing code, which the other user has to enter.

The code for everything is 0000, and you have to enter it as well. Its a two way street.

Like canon and everyone else said, it is a 2 way street, and you said that T-mobile couldn't fix it... problems like these are most likely not even possible, and even it is was possible then it'd probably just be software hacking and messing with your OS, easily fixed by whiping the handheld and reloading the OS... if this evey happened =P
