Try using JL_Cmder to wipe the device and then reload the operating system.

I was curious on how it would work without the battery and did try it unsuccessfully. Not sure if the older blackberrys supported that.
The tool is a life-saver. Thanks

unfamiliar with DOS
I am having the same problems as some of you with my t-mobile 7290, i always finish the installation of the 4.1 OS from scratch and then when i i start the desktop manager, it seems to be working fine from the pc end, but my blackberry gets the 543 error message every time. I need my phone for work and i am not experienced with MS DOS because i never got into PCs until recently. if someone could explain to me how to use this javaloader strategy step by step, it sounds like i could get my blackberry running again. sorry to be a pain, and if this has already been explained, just let me know where i can read about it. cuz I'm talking serious DOS for dummies level.
thanks,
Jordan

- Install JL_Cmder and the device OS to your PC.
- Run JL_Cmder using the Wipe option. Follow prompts.
- 505/507 error onscreen when complete.
- Reload OS again Application Loader.
There is no DOS you need to use. That is the whole point of JL_Cmder. All the DOS commands are taken care of for you. If you still having a problem then you need to give us more specifics on the situation.

hey, d_fisher,
i need to thank you man, my blackberry is in the process of loading all the java apps properly this time. for some reason when i tried to use your installer zip i just couldn't figure out what to do with the one file it contained. but the zip you provided above it works like a charm. I guess i was overlooking something simple.
thanks again!

Hi! I used this awesome program once before to wipe my stupid BB 7100i and that crazy JUM Error. But now when I click on the zip file for JL_Cmder program, it takes me to a blank page. Anyone have a link that works so I can download the zip file? Thanks!

tennisrallygal,
The server crashed earlier this week and the attachments were lost. If you read the edit in d_fisher's first post above it says he will be adding new attachments. For now, I've attached the one I still have saved on my computer. Check back later in the first post for the latest and greatest from d_fisher.

Hello,
I wiped my device using JL_Cmder and reloaded the OS and everything seems to be working fine. I was able to add my third party apps back and also restore my data. Now the problem is the myFavs app is missing. All my themes are there except for this one. Any help will be appreciated...

can't get load command to work
I'm trying to load a .cod file to my BB with JL Cmdr. If I press 6 for command I get a notepad window explaining what I can do. JL Cmdr won't seem to let me type anything but a number from the menu. What am I missing?
I tried Javaloader.exe as well but it doesn't seem to work. It asks if I want to run it, it flashes and then nothing.

Open a command window to C:\Program Files\JL_Cmder. Then type in the command you want to use.

Is the OS currently installed on the device version 4.3 or higher? That command does not work if the version is 4.2.x or below.

JL_Cmder doesn't work that way. If your trying to install an OS to the device please search the forums for those specific instructions. If your trying to do something else please give more details.

BB doesn't load?
I resently installed a new theme and a instant messaging app called "IMplus" for my BB 8700c using the desktop manager, after i installed the theme & app my BB turned off and now only shows a hour glass for about 20 seconds then restarts and continues to do so. Is there anything i can do to fix this problem?? I believe i may have installed a theme for a different BB model ..
Not sure if that would have anything to do with the problem, im sure the app wasn't defective or contained a virus of any sort..
I tried using the JL_Cmder to wipe my BB to see if i'd be able to reinstall a new OS, but my computer doesn't seem to reconized my BB anymore.
If anyone has any suggestions I'd GREATLY appreciate it. Thank You.
Davin.

Your BlackBerry is not loading enough before rebooting. You can wipe the device but you got to do it at just the right moment. JL_Cmder is not going to allow you to send the wipe command fast enough so you will have to do it from the command line.
Open a command line and change the directory to C:\Program Files\JL_Cmder. Type javaloader.exe -u wipe. Press enter to submit the command. Press the up arrow and enter over and over again. Eventually the command should be taken and you can load the OS again and start from there.
Good Luck.

total format
Is there anyway how to make a total format of BB8700G? I don't mean reseting not hard resiting...
The problem is, I've tried to install iphone theme and the BB just won't load. It only turns on, loads (white display with hour-glass icon), turns off
I've tried jloader now, it tries to connect while the BB is loading (white display with hour-glass icon), then when BB turns off again, it states it cannot connect...

Can anyone help ?
So I have a bb curve 8320. I have had issues with it. One it it won't boot up. Only red flashing lights. So I used jl_cmder and it had an error saying it couldn't open port ? My device is not hooked up to a hub and I have the bb OS installed on my system. Does the OS have to be in a certain folder ? Maybe There is nothing more I can do.
Also if I just install the OS through the bb desktop it says it cannot connect through to the device. Even though windows sees the device as a bb.
I know this is a lot of info but I really want to try to get this fixed.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks !
