WhatsApp Emoticons and Sametime

I am sure somewhere in the world another 9300 user has the same issues, but I did a search and no-one has asked this question...
Question 1:
I have OS6 on a brand new 9300 curve 3G. I got emoticons on BBM, sms etc. I downloaded WhatsApp to communicate with friends on Iphone. I cannot get to my list of emoticons at all to use it in WhatsApp. They can however send met emoticons in their messages and I can see them fine, which means it supportsd emoticons.
1) Is it a setting on the phone to make emoticons available everywhere.
2) Is there a cheap app that would provide you proper emoticons in WhatsApp except the one called "Emoticons - Text Symbol Smiley Faces" for 99c. I don't mind paying if I know it will give me proper usable emoticons similar to BBM and/or Skype...
3) I am not entering into a BB vs Iphone discussion please, if you have an opinion about it, good, glad for you, kepp it out the thread though.
Question 2:
I've seen a few posts that Sametime (lotus notes IM) is not supported by BB BIS. It seems in 2007 IM+ supported it but that doesn't anymore. Our Sametime server can be accessed via open internet, and I can connect to it with Pidgin on my computer. Anyone know how to log into Sametime with an application on BB? I'll come clean your house for a usable answer...
Question 3:
VLC Remote, for the 9300...why why why not? I ask with tears in my eyes. Can you MAKE it work on 9300 lol? Again, I'll pay for it, as long as I can get it to work or crack it to work on the 9300. Anyone know if they plan to bring it out?
I'll really appraciate your help on either of these items.
