Default TMO to release OS 4.2 for 8700g

Please Login to Remove!

I spoke with two differnet Blackberry service reps at TMO. They both said that OS 4.2 will be release soon for TMO users.

They said the OS is waiting for the release of an upgraded version for the 8700g they called the 8705.

They said this upgrade should be before November for Christmas sales.

Not sure if it will automatically be a 'my favs' phone. Could someone enlighten me as to why this my favs thing is such a big deal? Isn't it basically speed dial?

myFaves is a service that allows you to make unlimited calls to any five domestic numbers. It's like My Circle from Alltel except half the size.

It's a big deal because you get unlimited anytime minutes to the numbers in your Favs regardless of if those numbers are to other T-Mobile customers or not.

Its like having free nights and weekends all the time, but just to the numbers in your My Favs list.

from what we've seen 8705 does not feature 4.2 therefore its going to be a bit of a longer wait.

None of the 4.2 code I've seen on the 8700 has voice dialing.

That makes me sad. My wife has a Pearl and her voice dialing really impresses me. I would pay some $$ for software that would do that on my 8700g.

Default Update - 4.2?

Has there been any recent new in regards to OS 4.2 on the 8700 series? I searched some of the headlines and wasn't able to find anything.
