BlackBerry Handheld Software v6.0.0.2342 (Multilanguage)
This release will work on any carrier's device by following the directions below.

Package Version: 6.0.0.2342
Consisting of:
Applications: 6.0.0.526
Software Platform: 6.6.0.195
File name: 9800M_PBr6.0.0_rel2342_PL6.6.0.195_A6.0.0.526_AT_T .exe
File size: 171.93MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download the OS file here: https://swdownloads.blackberry.com/D...E4F82F9F00E7D4

Instructions for installing on the 9800:
1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Vista/Win7 users: In the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the actual Vendor.xml file. Once you've got that - simply delete the vendor.xml file there (even if you've deleted or think you've deleted it in the folder previously) and voila, it will allow you to update to the newly installed OS!
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process may take up to 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a black "BlackBerry" screen with a status bar for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again, and it should load the OS to the device.

I did it without thinking. Now I'm wondering of that's AT&T's way to stop the bridge functionality in the future.

I picked up .526 after JSanders advised of it in a "tweet" on the weekend. Can't understand why it hasn't replaced the .448 thread at the top of the page long ago.
I have been running this since Monday afternoon without issues. The major thing it corrected for me as compared to .448 is that I was having difficulty with hearing our corporate voicemails e-mailed to us as attachments. Under .448 voicemail attachments sounded "scratchy" at best and completely garbled at worse.
Still having reception issues with Rogers, particularly on 3g. That was the reason for previusly downgrading from .450 to .448 (which did not change anything.) I am beginning to believe that it is a Rogers issue (too many inefficient iPhones using their network) rather than an os issue.

So far, am disappointed. Since installing, my device frequently freezes (thinking icon appears for over a minute at a time) and battery life is much worse than AT&T's prior OS version (the battery issue may very well be due, at least in part, to the freezing issue). Done multiple battery pulls and reinstalled the OS. Nothing has helped. First time I've ever had issues with an AT&T OS upgrade.

Deleted internet browser service books, rebooted, and all is well in case anyone has the same problem after the upgrade.

yeah the two recent leaks are the worst OS leaks to date. Buddy above me cant open his browser, i have huge touch screen problems with blackberry news feeds and terrible lag throughout the entire OS. And what bothers me the most is that AT&T actually pushed the latest update to it's users! And now i'm reading on various threads and forums about people having all sorts of problems with this most recent OS. And i mean people who aren't nerds and don't know anything about leaked OSs, ect. so they don't know how to downgrade or that it's even possible especially if they were a shmIphone user prior. It's a crazy time in the BB world fo sho. Lazaridis freaking out on tv lol, crazy times. On top of everything, the playbook is honestly not very good. and i know cause i bought one. I truly and honestly believed that the playbook would be their comeback but it isn't and my faith in the bb brand is being tested my friends. hp webos 3.0 is looking much better at this point. :(

Its funny how some people have the most horrible experience and some don't. Beside the few minor glitches,I don't have the problems some are reporting.

I too am not having issues with this os. It fixed my problem with hearing office voice mails as attachments to e-mails which was an issue with .448 the current Roger's official os.
However I seem to recall reported issues with it on the beta thread which caused me to delay updating until AT&T adopted it. All said I am keeping it. However, given that this has been as official AT&T os for almost a week and it is still not "stuck" up at the top, is someone trying to tell us something?

This OS is horrible. Frequently freezes (thinking icon spins forever) and the battery life sucks. Hard to believe this is an official release.

I'm rolling back to the .450 beta. It was stable and battery life was decent.

I have upgraded to this release using the all language version.

I have not encountered any of the above problems since the upgrade more than a day ago. So far so good. Hopefully it stay this way.

I'm pleased to say that I've been running on this release for several days, and have had no real issues with it. I have found that my wi-fi connection seems to be reliable, whereas it was very unreliable with .246. No real battery issues, except the one time I forgot and left WorldClock running.

I ran the update via BBDM, and I seemed to have lost all of my individual email icons... I am not really please with this update so far...

That or something similar -- losing created folders, and saved-to-homescreen webpages in them, something I experienced moving to .450 beta via apploader -- is something preventing me from moving to this new release. What a problem that is! Wondering how that is to be avoided if possible -- anyone?
